Pretty good value for what you get. I didn’t get enough chenille or gold wire to make 30 flies (I was able to make 24). The thread seemed a little weak and it frayed easily, the chenille seemed to come apart too easily, and the gold wire was too thin for this application (almost invisible on the finished fly), but all in all, I was pleased with the purchase.

I picked up this fly tying kit on a whim, and I’m so glad I did! I’m pretty new to tying my own flies, but this kit made it super easy to get started. It came with everything I needed to tie the wooly buggers, and the instructions were easy to follow, even for someone like me who had no clue what I was doing at first. I’ve already tied up a few flies, and I’m excited to see how they do on the water. For the price, this is a great fly tying starter kit. Definitely worth it! Kind of a flimsy Lego set! Mediocre material and instructions. It’s best to just go buy a few things and do it on your own. The instructions were printed smaller then the original King James Version of the Bible… BBW buyer be ware

I usually buy all my tying materials separately and sometimes I don't have enough bulk materials to tie as many flies as I want at one time. This kit solves that for a good price. I was really happy with all the materials, the hackle and chenille fit well on this size fly. The size of the hooks should be perfect for the trout I want to catch. 30 wooly buggers was more than enough to fill my fly box for the next fishing trip. The instructions were a nice addition too!

I bought this for my 11 year old for Christmas- he completed his first tie with his dad and his second on his own. Overall the kit was great some of the instructions could be a bit more detailed they had to YouTube some of the instructions .

I used to be really into fly tying but drifted away from it over the years. Decided to pick up this kit to see if it could help me rekindle that passion, and I’m glad I did. The fly tying materials are better than expected, which work great for tying both trout and bass flies. The kit somewhat high end, for the price, it’s got everything you need to start tying a good range of flies.There’s enough material here to keep you busy for a while. This kit has definitely helped me ease back into the hobby without needing a big investment. I’d recommend it to anyone who wants to get back into tying or to try it out for the first time. Going fly fishing soon and I think I’ll be able to get some trout with these buggers.

Picked up this fly tying kit for beginners to practice tying wooly buggers, and I think its pretty solid. You get a good amount of fly tying materials to make quite a few bass flies or trout flies without having to buy everything separately. The marabou and hackle feathers are good quality and didnt fray, and the thread was smooth and didn’t break always a plusI got this as a gift to help my friend who’s new to fly tying, and they’ve had an easy time using it to start their own fly fishing kit. Hooks were decent, though a couple felt a bit soft. For the price, this kit is hard to beat, especially if you’re looking to tie wet flies or stock up on materials. Definitely a convenient and affordable way to start making your own flies!
