I bought this to help protect my new stove top, it says it’s heat resistant but it smoke and smells like burning plastic when I have put it on a hot stove top, after letting to stove top cool for a couple of minutes

IMO this is VERY LARGE and may be TOO BIG for SOME kitchen ranges/stoves, but it seems to be "fit for purpose" as it has been advertised.It (a) has a NICE feel and (b) LOOKS GREAT (IMO) and (c) would be durable, I would guess.
