I used these to replace the boats original 25 year incandescent bulbs and the difference is as expected, dramatic. These lights definitely put out nice bright light that fills the cabin. I selected these lights as I wanted the same diameter as the previous lights and needed a switch. The quality of construction is fine, except all the bezel screws were put in at the wrong angle, so they are not flush. The mounting holes (screws not included), are very small, maybe #8 size screw or smaller. They would be fine for mounting on wood, but I was mounting them on foam backed headliner, and the mounting screws are extremely close to the outer edge, which is not ideal. This was totally my mistake since it clearly shows the mounting screw locations in the photos. It would be far better if the mounting screws were inside the fixture (for a cleaner look) or a least farther from the edge. I ended up taking the light apart, removing a center bolt that held the LED array in place and using a single screw right though this same hole (the screw also serves to hold the LED array). Looks fine, works great.

The holes were different, but they matched the size and appearance perfectly. These are the old style dome lights found in most boats. The brightness is excellent, lights every inch of the main salon. So much so that I installed "Soft blue" LEDs to use when I am just relaxing and watching TV.If I had any criticism of these it would be that the lens rim has a very sharp edge that only slightly protrudes. This will not be a problem unless you really grab the light, you just need to be aware that it is there.
