With a bit of trial and error, this wound up working great for a witch's brew pot on a Halloween decoration. The splash guard (I had to buy separately) was essential for it to function correctly, plus getting water levels perfectly right. Once those things were worked out it did what I expected, which was cover the top of the pot with a layer of fog.Another thing too - having this outside, it was susceptible to wind interference, which could be problematic if there's too much wind. In my case, I noticed that if there was a couple of inches of pot above the waterline and the decoration wasn't directly in the wind, the fog would pool up inside the pot and then spill over the edge, with the wind not having that much of a negative effect on it.
