The bridges were cut down and each of them were different sizes. They could not be used in any way with my Square neck Dobro. Had to return them.

Came in a real fancy box but absolutely no instructions how to install. Impossible to install. A video would have helped. Nobody in the area is familiar with this type of pickup.

Great pickup but does require professional installation (the bridge pieces come unslotted) and really should be used with the Fishman Jerry Douglas Aura pedal (just a standard piezoelectric pick up sound without the aura pedal images)This pickup with the aura pedal is very close to the sound you get with a mic but no feedback at high volume

Works and sounds great. Needs shaped and notched like most saddles, not a beginners project. I broke off one of the pickup leads when soldering to the jack. Wasn’t too hard to fix if you’re familiar working with fine wire. Good DYI project for the experienced. Also changed the nut from plastic to bone. Makes my inexpensive Fretwire Resonator kit sound amazing ($200 Fishman pickup in a $220 Fretwire kit, try it yourself).

I installed this in a guitar made by Byrl Murdock, and also have had one in a Beard. Super responsive and with the right preamp they can sound very natural and acoustic. I’m using the Fishman Aura Spectrum because of the built in DI but the Aura Jerry Douglas signature is great too. If you aren’t extremely comfortable disassembling, drilling holes in, and re setting up your Reso, professional installation will be needed. An adjustable spider is a must as well.

This product produces a fantastic tone when paired with one of the Fishman Aura modeling products. I am using it with the Aura Spectrum DI and have downloaded several Resonator tones from the Fishman website which I can select on the DI.I have heard many reports of difficulty installing, adjusting, and fitting the bridge. Because I live in a remote area, I tackled the installation myself.I may have lucked out, but the bridge was a perfect fit in my Beard standard spider and the slotting was a piece of cake. The hardest part was removing the old bridge which had been glued in. Once the channel was perfectly clean, the bridge slid in with adequate resistance to hold it in place. The height was identical to the old bridge, and I matched the slotting to the old inserts. All in all, took about 30 min to install the bridge, 30 min to route the wiring and adjust the jack. I strung it back up and the tone was remarkable and even across all strings.I took it out and played it through a Fishman Loudbox Mini that evening and had great response from the folks listening. I highly recommend this product.

The best money I've spent on equipment in many, many years! My sound man was simply amazed by the sound quality change after I installed the Fishman pickup. I cannot think of any con's - even though it is painstaking work to get them installed perfectly, my patience was rewarded. Even after reading the other glowing reviews, I honestly did not expect results this great. I do not write reviews but needed to make an exception with the Nashville Resophonic Pickup. I will never look at my Dobro Hound Dog the same way...and nothing but smiles from the band.

This purchase was the third of these wonderful pick-ups I now have. The first two I had installed by a very experienced luthier on my two square neck resonator guitars. This one I chose to install myself on the my round neck resonator. The key to installing yourself, beside having experience in resonator set-ups (and I won't discuss here), is handling the leads VERY carefully and ONLY using the adjustable spider that you can buy through Beard Guitars. The pick up pieces should slip into the spider bridge without much force and be firmly seated. The set screws only need to secure the saddle. You are not torquing lug nuts. Route the cable out of sight and so it does not touch the cone. This is done toward the position you have drilled a hole the just outside the edge of the cone to route the cable to your output jack. Then you begin the process of shaping the saddle (or not) if a round neck and then regardless, lightly notching for string placement. If you are happy with your current saddle set-up, then take plenty of measurements in relationship to the guitar top before you start to assure you duplicate the height, spacing, etc. remembering your new Beard spider (and this bridge) will likely not set exactly at the same height as your previous. Note: this pick-up was designed to be played through the companion Jerry Douglas Fishman Aura Pedal and should be a condition of your deciding to purchase the pick-up.
