I never thought I'd write a review for a drill bit, but this thing amazed me. I had to drill a lot of holes in Melamine MDF cabinets. My regular discount brand brad point bits were making a mess so I tried this Fisch and two others, one in a blue package and the other in yellow. The difference was truly unbelievable. The other two brands mushed their way through, pushing ground material ahead of them and blowing out the MDF on the other side. They were no different than my discount bits. The Fisch, however, was a totally different story. It cut the MDF and the excess spiraled out of the hole behind the cut almost like drilling aluminum. The bit exited the other side with very little blow-out or damage to the Melamine. Drilling into a backer board completely eliminated any damage and the exit hole was actually a cleaner cut than the entry side. Simply amazing. If you are drilling Melamine MDF, don't even mess with big blue or yellow. Just get this Fisch for the same or even less money.

There isn't a whole lot to say... Fisch is top of the class in brad point bits. Exactly 3/16in holes, with consistency. The bits are beefier, stay cooler, and stay sharper longer. This picture was taken after drilling hundreds of 3/16in holes since I originally got the bit.If I could afford the entire set I would buy it in an instant, but for now I buy them one by one. The 1/4in bit was dead on as well. The improvement over the team yellow home center brad point bits is significant. I originally bought the 1/4in after the team yellow bit was drilling holes over 1/4, and my plug cutter plugs were too loose. They were a perfect fit once I had the Fisch bit.If you need a bit to drill some holes that have to be exactly the dimension, grab the Fisch bits.

I am new at carpentry, but this bit was the ticket to get my dowel holes precisely located and cleanly cut. I also used it to hog out mortise cavities that came out splinter free. This bit was also longer than most, so I was able to easily drill a 2" deep hole. After drilling more than 70 or more holes it is good as new.
