Works great. Some reviews complain about the poker rotating where the two halves are screwed together. There is a nut that can be tightened to prevent that. You need to line up the handle with the poker before you tighten the nut.

It is exactly as advertised. Not extremely long but works great for the fire pit we have.

Ngl, I bought this specifically to hook the loops on my boots and look em on without having to bend over. Worked perfectly.

I've been wanting a fire poker both for home and camping out. The benefit of this one is that you can break in down in half, which makes it easier to pack. It's not lightwieght by any means... technically study enough to use as a walking stick but not tall enough. I'm not sure why there were rubber pieces put in the ends because they're not sharp at all. Perhaps it was reduce risk that they'd poke through packaging. Just be sure to remove them before use.I tried assembling, unassembling, and reassembling and nothing I do can get mine to line up the hook with the handle. Each time, it comes out at a 45 degree angle. I have noted there is a nut on mine that I don't see in the product images. Removing it just leaves a gap, and moving it up a little (to try and achieve perfect alignment) lets the rod swivel. I'm resigned to accept it as it is, it's not a deal breaker for me. I wonder if mine was just an anomoly since no one else has mentioned this in their reviews.

I use this in my backyard to help position wood pieces in my 21" diameter Stainless Steel firepit. The poker comes in two pieces which thread together quick and easy. They use a lock nut to keep it from coming loose and locked in position. I used a 13mm wrench to lock it up tight. I've had on issues so far.The diameter of steel rod is about 8mm (> 1/4"). Its' plenty stiff for moving the wood in my small firepit. Although I would say the curved hook is very blunt and small - it does work. It's finished in a thick, shiny black paint that is very hard. It survives hot fires with no damage.I really like the open loop handle which provides a secure grip. Its' tack welded to the rod, and I couldn't detect any flex or twist. It works really well. The handle obviously works as a nice hanger as well. This is a simple well-made, solid steel poker that is great for backyard firepits. Its' long enough to reach down into the pit to reposition burning wood while keeping your hands at a safe distance. And stiff enough to provide plenty of leverage. The finish is very good and should be very weather resistant. The only exception is the black oxide coated lock nut which will probably rust the first night. The price is very reasonable. I would recommend this item for sure.

This is the perfect camping fire poke. We enjoy hot tent camping with a woodstove in the winter. This fire poke is the ideal length for a small wood stove. It goes together and comes apart with ease making it the perfect accessory to the woodstove. We looked for fire poke that we could take with us that wouldn't be a hassle or get soot on everything. This was an absolute win! We just take it apart put it in it's own stuff sack and it's ready for next time.

As a frequent camper, especially one who spend hours staring into the campfire and fiddling with poking it, this is EXACTLY what I wanted. I have resisted carrying a poker with me for years because, first of all, true fireplace pokers are expensive, and second, I don't want to carry a 3' long, spiky metal rod in my gear. THIS, however, breaks down into two 14" seconds that can easily fit into my gear box, weight little, and even come with rubber tips on the ends that I'm sure to lose but theoretically protect and keep them from poking anything until they are needed as, well, a poker. The pieces themselves are about 1/4" thick but feel very rigid and have no flex, and there's a deep threaded area so I am not worried they will separate while in use. I was a little disappointed to realize that there is a hand grip on one end, but I think it would be impossible to line them up so it faces the optimal direction when screwed together and held with the business end of the poker in working position. But that seems lofty a concern for someone who usually uses whatever nearby long stick is handy until now. I also like that I could keep the two halves together with a twist tie or rubber band, but it would have been nice to have a little dedicated sack or zippered pocket that these store away in, maybe even one with extra room for a lighter or fire starters. I imagine that might increase the cost of such a product by a couple dollars, but I think it would be worth it. Still, the product is exactly as described, and it is headed off for the woods with me tomorrow for "field testing."

I used this but did not put on the end attachment as I felt nervous putting a rubber-ended piece into flames. I was able to use it at half length due to the fact that I have a traveling grill that is quite small. If I were to put the rubber part into the grill while using... nope. I do not recommend this item.
