With an assembled height of 7 ft and a range of motion of 140 degrees, you will virtually eliminate the headaches and inefficiencies associated with tangled cords and hoses. Stabilizer bars straddle the base of the CT Dust Extractor for secure and stable use. Constructed of durable steel tubing for a long service life. Includes a 5 ft electrical extension cord and a 50 mm x 5 ft Antistatic hose with female coupler, allowing a good working length off the end of the boom arm when coupled to the standard 27 mm x 3.5 m hose supplied with the CT Dust Extractor. Requires handle (SB-CT 452921) for mounting onto the CT 22 or CT 33 Dust Extractor.

The box was inadequate for shipping purposes. I ordered this in June as a new product and apparently the package was resealed during shipment. The two outriggers and one of the cross braces were missing. I had loaned my Festool CT-33E vacuum to my son for a home remodeling project and I did not inspect the package contents until today when I planned to install the unit after my son returned my CT-33 vacuum. Missing Festool missing part numbers and online pricing are:(2) 492783 Outrigger Supports $26.46 each - $53(1) 493040 Strut $35.49 (includes two struts/cross braces as a unit)So I must spend another $89 plus shipping I presume to make this $375 order complete. Please advise what can be done to fix this situation.

If you use the Festool vacuum system in our shop you have to have this boom accessory. Keeps the hose up and out of the way. The swing on the boom arm allows the hose to follow your tool over the work product without getting in the way. I have two vacuums and two booms.

Christmas present for the fiance. he loves it. he declared at work it was his best present, and he's not much of a talker! so for him to go bragging about what I did for him I guess is a huge deal. Honestly I sort of don't get it. I thought it would be more of a pulley or move more, but it doesn't. but according to him, it's perfect. we have an older model of the vacuum so I made sure first this is the right one, and I was confused if I was supposed to buy other parts because I noticed some other models came as a kit. but he already had the handle for the vacuum so I thought to play it safe not overbuy. and I was right, if you already have the big push handle for the vacuum, you don't need the extra things. even if you have the model from 10 years ago! he says the best part is having the power cord available. he did not use the side legs because it does take up a ton of space, plus I think it takes up mobility. I don't even see why you would need it as it's not falling over anytime soon. maybe if you were crazy yanking on it? looks cool and makes his garage look super legit and alienlike! pricey but according to him, worth it.

I am a professional furniture maker, and use Festool products extensively in my work. I've used my Festoll CT22 Dust Extractor for all my Festool equipment (such as sanding, Domino, Track saw, etc) for over 5 years and finally bought the Boom Arm. I wish I had done it five years ago! It gets the cord and the vacuum hose completely out of the way, while allowing easy access to the entire work surface. I just finished sanding an 8' X 4' table top, and was able to reach all parts of the top without ever having to re-position the dust extractor. As with so many Festool purchases, this seemed like it was a little expensive, but after I bought it, I was ever-so-glad I had it.The only minor negative I would say about this attachment is that the stabilizer bars that support the unit from tipping are a bit obtrusive, making it a little difficult to maneuver in tight spaces. Perhaps future iterations of the boom arm will improve on this, but honestly, that is only a very, very tiny issue with me.

I was sanding the decks on a 26' speed boat and the hose coming up over the side of the sheer plank from the floor was catching and irritating me endlessly. I was decided that at this late stage in my career I deserved a little more dignity in the work arena so I ordered one of these babies. It's done all I could ask of it. Like all Festool stuff it's well thought out and designed and it goes together easily enough. You've got to order the handle to make the thing work which is an additional expense but it makes moving the vacuum a more pleasant experience and i wish I'd had one on there these last ten years I've owned my CT22. Also, part of the system includes a tubular bracing component that might be necessary if you boom off the back of the vacuum. It's ungainly if you want to move the vacuum around the shop and not necessary if you use the boom off the front of the vacuum. You can take it on and off easily enough, so I leave it off and standing by in the unlikely event I ever need it. This product will improve your life. Also, it just looks cool.

I have this boom arm and use it regularly...I love that it is high enough to stay out of the way. Does what it should, on keeping cord and vac line from dragging on my work. I have used it now for about 1.5 years, so, maybe my problem with it has been rectified. The only problem I have with it, is that the "joints" between the upright sections are a slip fit construction with a short, hard plastic insert, to allow the arm to swivel...The plastic insert is simply not long enough or hard enough, and the boom arm now sags forward and downward about 6 inches. Still works fine, it's just not "plumb" (that drives me nuts)...I believe this could be fixed by Festool if they were using longer inserts to provide more support.Otherwise a great unit, I wouldn't be without it in the shop.
