Easy to install and much better than just the standard wire.

Good product. Quick and easy to use. Could be a bit longer, but it works okay.

Works great! Only thing is I would say it is not 6 feet long it is shorter than that. Just hooks up to my truck.

Like most of y’all I was unsure which size to buy. I almost went with the 4’, because to me that made sense thinking i didn’t want any cable dragging or hanging too low. I ended up switching to the 6’ last second, I figured I’d rather have it too long than too short and I could just cut it if I needed to. This is definitely not 6 feet long, even fully stretched out...but it does the job for my 7x14 trailer. I will be ordering more for my other trailers, as I think the look and function is better than what came installed. Great product!

This thing clips onto your breakaway switch, parks itself when not in use, and clips to your tow vehicle quite easily. It stays out of the way and is so sano! Trailers come with a bit of wire with a loop for the breakaway cable; it's way too long, hangs in the way of everything, and is a hassle to hook up. Then you trip over it, or it catches on something and pulls itself... what a mess! This coil cord version is the coolest thing I've done for my trailers in a long time. It's as neat and spiffy as it looks! I'm actually delighted! 8^D

On our travel trailer, the distance between attachment points (switch on the trailer to the truck) is 34". I am glad we chose the 6' version over the 4'. In our case, the 34" distance elongates the coil by 47%. The 4' version would have elongated by 71%. The tension designed into the coil is well engineered in that the cable barely sags even when elongated by less than half of its capacity. Judging from how ours actually works, I believe we made a good choice. With that said, the marketing department could do a better job of describing the best working ranges of the cables they are selling. As it is, guidance as to which cable length to purchase is minimal and relies on the customer's best guess. If you are trying to decide, I recommend choosing longer rather than shorter.

Nice quality. Works well. Super easy to install. No more dragging wire or too tight. A little pricy for what it is but can't argue with the fact it works great.

This is much better than the stock metal cable that came with the trailer. It doesn't get in the way, makes itself the right size, and is much faster to hook up. It seems to be made of a durable plastic material. I am not too worried that it will break or become brittle soon. It looks like it will last for at least 5 years or more. I am just guessing. New trailers aught to come with one of these.

This cable looks so much neater that traditional wire breakaway cables and you never have to worry about it dragging on the ground. Don't bother with the 4 foot version, since it's coiled the 6 foot will work just as well and only costs a few cents more but it gives you a lot more flexibility and reach. My one concern is that the "cable" appears to be made of plastic with no wire or anything inside it, so I'm worried that it might become brittle with age. On the other hand, wire cables always end up fraying as they get older, so maybe it's a good idea to replace them occasionally either way. This cable is very easy to replace, with a split ring that is relatively simple to attach or remove from the breakaway pin. Most wire cables I've seen have to be cut to remove them, or you have to replace the cable and pin together.

My brand new horse trailer had a typical breakaway cable and it was too long and on the three hour drive back from the dealership to my home the cable rubbed against the road and actually broke. I decided to get this coiled cable instead so that it wouldn't drag or have too much cable in case of emergency. It was super easy to add to my breakaway pin and is just the right length. Worth every penny!
