Easy to read the pin names (printed both on the board and on the socket), all of the screw terminals I have uses seem to work just fine. I love the 5v and all the extra grounds being split out. I suck at soldering so this is an excellent solution until I have had more practice.

You will need to pull up a proper pinout onlne to compare the pin labels on this with the board, however with very little space for labels they used one particular pin out labeling standard and some folks use another. Either way I love this little thing. There is no better/easier way to reliably attach wires onto your pi gpio pins than this and the small area to solder components was an awesome bonus. You will want to ensure you have a small enough standard screw driver to loosen and tighten the small screws. I will be buying one of these any time I want to more permanently attach items to gpio pins of my rasberry pis.

Breadboards and jumper wires are fine for testing circuits. They won't do for anything meant to last because the jumper wires will come loose. This HAT has screw terminals for the GPIO pins, 3v3, 5V, and GND. The screw terminals let you attach sensors and other gear in a way that won't come loose, but that can be removed easily later on. It comes assembled with brass mounting stand-offs and screws, and it WILL clear the PoE pins on the Model 3 B+. There are cutouts for the camera and display ribbon cables. There's a 7x15 field of mounting holes that will allow you to solder components, plus a few extra holes. My only complaint is that I would like to have seen these connected with traces to make two rails that run the width of the device, plus 15 4-connection bars, just like a mini-breadboard with solder capability. If you are building a weather station, security system, home theater, or other permanent installation around your Raspberry Pi, you need one of these!

I was struggling with breadboards and connectors and solder through pins, just to connect a few sensors to my raspberry pi. Then I saw this and . . . done. Sensors connected and working. Will definitely remember this for my next project.

I wanted a way to securely mount I/O leads from the Pi to various relays, sensors, and LEDs for a project I am working on. I wanted screw terminals to solid connections with a low profile design. This board is exactly what I was looking for! It even fits well in one of the cases made for a Pi3b with a "hat". This is a quality made board.

This would be a home run 5 of 5 if only it had a slightly longer header for the pins, with the shorter header and standoffs it didn't clear my heatsink on my PI 3 B+ so I had to remove it. Still a very well made and thought-out product.
