The outlev Digital Angle Finder Protractor is great for older houses, and for newer ones too!I have an "old school" angle finder, meaning not a digital one. It works fairly well, but I found it lacking when I bought my existing house. It's older, plaster and lathing older, which is superior in my opinion. But, it does sometimes make for some interesting cuts. For example, I wanted to put up shelves in my office over the desk. As expected the corner wasn't 90 degrees, as in a lot of older houses. Between the variation in the plaster and so on, it's just always different, sometimes even depending on where you make your measurement. I got close, close enough, but I wasn't really happy with it. My wife says I'm overly critical, but, I just didn't like the mismatch, it's slight...but I think every job is kind of a self portrait. and my portrait is slightly off. So, I order this and I think "Lets see if I can make this better." With the digital readout I was able to get more precise measurements of the angles and how I needed to adjust my saw's angle. And viola'! Improved joint with no mismatch!! Sometimes it's the simple things, LOL.It's also nice for ensuring you have a piece squared off right, if you don't have your square with you of course. LOL. Anyway, the point is this has multiple uses, and if you're reading this review I'm sure you're already aware of all it can do.My experience with this handy tool has been overwhelmingly positive. Accurate, display is big enough to be legible without being obstructive. Markings are clear and concise in both English and metric. Not really much else to say in my opinion. Would I order this again if the need arose? Definitely. Would I recommend this to others? Absolutely.A+++++

This tool is good for home use, but for professional use, it is not accurate enough. I constantly have to zero the tool out before taking a measurement, even between measurements it goes out of calibration at .5 to 1 degree. The ruler itself has no anodized coating and anytime you touch it your fingerprints stain the metal. This tool is just okay for home use.
