Installed about 1000 sq ft so far and 0 issues. Long handle helps with back issues. Very happy with purchase.

I purchased this floor nailer to install pre finished 9/16 engineered hardwood flooring. The flooring required cleat nails. The nailer did a great job no issues with approx 500sqft installed so far. I highly recommend well built tool, and at the price point I don’t think it can be beat.

I bought this nailer to install 2 x 6 pine tongue and groove flooring. First time installing wood flooring and first time using pneumatic flooring nailer. Altogether, I shot somewhere between 3400 - 3500 2 Inch L Shaped Hardwood Flooring Cleats. Not a single jam. The floor was a little over 600 sq ft. Even if I never use it again, I got my money's worth out of this tool by doing the job myself. The floor turned out great.

We used this nailer to install approximately 800 sq. ft. of 3/4" ash hardwood. The tool worked very well from the first nail to the last. Some reviews I noticed complained about scratches to the floor caused by the pad, but we did not encounter any such problem. The unit needs to be lifted straight up after a nail is installed. If it is dragged at all from side to side, there will be damage to the wood..no doubt. Based on its performance with my crew, I would certainly recommend this product.

I want to lay 3/4" oak flooring in three bedrooms. One was carpeted. Yuck!! The other two have ugly laminate flooring that was not installed correctly. I decided to purchase this nailer rather than rent one figuring after three rooms buying is cheaper than renting... and I can take my time and not feel rushed to get the rental returned. The first room is done and I am very pleased. This is my first time installing a hardwood floor. (A good miter saw, table saw and patience are musts.)I tested the nailer on an 8 inch piece of flooring I didn't need to make sure I had my compressor at the setting that would give me the nail depth I wanted. Highly recommended.I used Bostitch 16 GA cleats. A cleat didn't set right 3 or 4 times but each instance was my fault, not the nailer's. The room I did is 14 x 12 and after this experience I'm looking forward to doing the next one.Great tool!!

Can't go wrong buying a Dewalt tool... Not had one out of place cleat in over 5000 cleats so far. Only had a double cleat once (my fault actually...). Used on 3/4 or 19mm solid oak hardwood floors.

I layed 70m2 of oak parquet with this tool, having never done it before. The results are great, and this Dewalt nailed played an integral part. Great tool, very intuitive to use. Highly recommended.

I am a professional hardwood installer, and I bought this gun or a spare. However it has become my main tool for installing hardwood. I only have a couple of complaints, the part that holds the cleats in place is a little flimsy and it does not hold the cleats tight enough. Sometimes the catch slips out. Also, the size of the gun is a little larger than I would like. It would be nice if it were able to get in the smaller places. However the quality is very good, and I would definitely purchase again.

I'll preface this by saying I have no experience with any other options/models.I bought this for installing maple flooring in our house. I considered renting, but figure that we'd be doing the work bit by bit in the free hours in the evening and renting would end up costing more. I have a slew of other Dewalt tools and really haven't had a bad experience with any (some are great, some are fine). Since the price was comparable to other flooring nailers, I chose this one based on brand loyalty. It's easy to use, easy to load, doesn't misfire (bought the 16g Bostitch L-cleats) and does a nice job of pre-punching the tongue to avoid splitting. It takes a pretty good whack with the included rubber mallet, but even my 105-lb wife has no problems operating it. The non-marring base seems to be doing the trick, we haven't had any accidental scrapes in the finish.I assume this is standard, but the fire mechanism is perfectly coordinated so the impact of the hammer both pushes the boards that extra bit together and nails them in that state. As such, you get a bit of a "zipper" effect as you work across the length of a slightly bowed board. The one tricky thing is that you can't use it once your flooring gets to within 16" of a wall because there's no space to swing the mallet. If other nailers solve this issue, consider this a 4-star review.

This is a brief comparison of the Freeman 3-in-1 and the DeWalt. I purchased both at the same time. Used this to install ~900sf of 2-1/4" maple strip floor. No jams.Put a drop of oil in the air line every couple of days of use and it just did its job.Others have commented on size etc. I also have the 3-in-1 Freeman nailer which comes with a nice case and more accessories for a lower price (about $50 cheaper). I bought both at the same time but despite the fact that the Freeman comes with a nice plastic case (which I admittedly prefer since all my other tools have cases) I chose to use the De Walt since it was less of a hassle and was slightly shorter. The Freeman was relegated early since the floor plate it came with (even though it said it was for 23/32 wood) was just a little too thin and was driving cleats into the tongue too low. The De Walt was hitting the right spot out of the box. I padded the Freeman plate with a piece of cardboard and it seemed to line up OK and my co-installer and I each used both guns. The Freeman worked without issue as well after it was padded about 1/16" - 1/32", and I can't complain about it, but compared to the DeWalt it was just a little taller, a little harder to use and we preferred the DeWalt. We only drove about 1000 t-cleats with the Freeman but it never jammed either. Both the DeWalt and the Freeman can be recommended, but the DeWalt slightly more so for it's smaller size and confirmed jam-free performance over 5000 cleats.

I couldn't be happier with this nailer. I installed almost 400 sq feet of solid oak hardwood floors (Bruce CB218 Dundee Strip) over two days. I used right around 3000 Bostitch FLN-200 L-Cleats without a single jam or misfire. This tool worked best with my material at around 70psi. A simple pancake compressor was more than capable of keeping this tool going full time. It was truly oil and go. I did add a few extra drops of oil every 500 cleats or so to keep the piston and seals well lubricated. I do recommend taking your time if you are working with pre-finished flooring. The foot pad is a non-marring plastic but there is some metal to wood contact with the edge of your flooring and nailer. I did manage to scratch one or two pieces during the install, but mostly due to fatigue. I have rented the Bostitch flooring nailer in the past and can say with great certainty that I like this one better! Great job, Dewalt.

I used this to install 500 sq.ft. of 3/4" ash hardwood into the top floor of my house. I was a first time user, but it was very straightforward. The nailer was lightweight and easy to move, but very sturdy. It was easy to line up (although the plate can scratch the finish of the wood if you're just casually tossing it into place). I did not have a single jam or malfunction. The sweet spot on the actuator is pretty forgiving, and for some of the last rows you can install, you don't necessarily need to hit it straight on to get it to fire properly i.e. the 4th and 5th rows away from the wall. The mallet that was included in the kit survived and looks like it can go another round at least. I used bostitch flooring nails and a Motomaster 5 gallon air compressor. Very happy with the performance, would definitely recommend!
