I'm still new to making stained glass, so perhaps the metal ones are better, but so far I like these a lot. They are easy to use and move around as needed and the push pins (the same kind you can pick up at Staples) are fine.The silicone seems to be fairly resistant to heat, but I haven't purposely tried to melt them or anything so I havent gotten the iron tip very close to them. Hopefully as I get better I'll be able to continue using them and will have a better estimation of their durability.

THis is an interestnig system. The strips are made of silicone. They can bend sideways a little, but to make an arch shape as pictured you will have to cut the strips at an angle - the curve is too steep. They included a bunch of pushpins. You will need your work surface to be made of something you can stick a pin in.
