We have an induction cooktop but I use this to cover the 5 burner gas cooktop and keep some of the grease off it. It works well for that. I cut holes for the burners and now we just pull it off and wash. No scratching the surface of the cooktop.

This mat was larger than the surface of our electric range. It was easy to cut to the exact shape. I used a straight edge and an X-acto knife but scissors will work just as well. It seems crazy that you can leave it on the surface and cook through it (with an induction cooktop) but it works. DO NOT use this on a regular cooktop. It does a great job of preventing scratches caused by sliding pans around. If it gets too messy from spilled food, just pop it in the dishwasher.

This induction mat is much better in some ways than the individual hob covers. It is more expensive to be sure. But it also covers the entire stove top. I like these because my last glass top stove was plagued with etching from boilovers. With this cover, I don't have to worry about that. Anything with starch or sugar in it can etch your glass cooktop if left to burn on. With this cover I get protection from that problem and it also prevents the pans from sliding around. The downside is that it is too big for my slide in Cafe range but I think that is only a temporary problem, as I will simply trim it down. The second problem is that they do not have the burner outlines on the mat--couldn't really do that as it is designed to be used on many different induction stoves--so I will have to find some high temperature markers to mark those locations. As it is, I simply peel back the mat and make sure I'm putting pan approximately in the middle of the burner. I used it tonight to sear flank steak. I did not use high, as on the 3700 watt burner I'm pretty sure that would exceed the mat's capability (450 degrees) but I did use medium high (and royally seared that steak!) and the mat worked beautifully in protecting my stove top from all of the splatter and mess. I may change my mind later, but right now, I really love this mat. It is simple and elegant and will make my induction stove top easier to keep clean as well as protect it from damage.

The Cook’s Aid Large Induction Cooktop Protector Mat is well-made, fits perfectly, and cleans up easily. It does its job of protecting the cooktop from scratches and spills. However, my main complaint is that it’s darker than expected, making it hard to see the heating elements underneath. When held up to the light, the mat is somewhat translucent, and you can see the weave pattern. But once placed on the cooktop, it appears much darker. That said, it functions as intended. Lifting it to turn on the stove and placing it back isn’t a huge inconvenience, especially for the benefit of keeping the surface clean and scratch-free.Since this is my first time using a cooktop protector, I don’t have anything to compare it to, but overall, it works well for its purpose.

The COOK'S AID silicone induction cooktop protector mat arrived in a packaging from KitchenRaku, therefore I am assuming it is the same mat. The little manual sheet describes the characteristics of this mat, how to clean, and what and not to do. The manual comes apparently directly from the manufacturer, which is according to that manual Coatex, USA.The little manual also states that the mat would include a set of yellow Teflon stickers to help marking the cooking zones of the individual stove, however, my packaging did not include those stickers. That leads me to the translucency feature: the markings of the cooktop can be seen through the mat, but not very well, and especially depending on the light reflections hitting the mat. I wish the markings could be more clearly visible, or as mentioned, I would have received those yellow Teflon markers. Also, if the controls (displays and touch buttons) of the cooktop are on the top, they can't be read well if the mat covers them. Mine are on the top but very much in the front of the cooktop and they are left uncovered. The mat sticks very well to the surface and does not slip at all.The manual also recommends staying away from the induction stove's Booster feature since the temp can rise above 450 F which is the stated limit for the mat.The good part is that this mat blends fully in with the dark cooktop and it is barely visible to anybody that the mat protects the stove. It looks really great.Cooking works just as good as without mat, no issues. Actually, I read the surface temperature of the induction cooktop will be lower when protected with the silicone mat.The mat is BPA free and food grade; therefore, it is also ok to work with food directly on it.Cleaning can be done by putting it into the dishwasher, or, what I did so far, I cleaned it with a sponge. Drying it with a towel did not work so well since the mat attracts textile fibers, so I let it air dry -- maybe there's a better method, but I haven't found it so far.Hope this helps with everybody's decision, overall, this is a great helper to keep the induction cooktop clean.I have no long-term experience with this mat.

This Cook's Aid Large Induction Cooktop Protector Mat fits perfectly on our induction cooktop. It has nice smooth edges and looks as if it was custom-made for our cooktop. It was packaged well and just took some time for the wrinkles to smooth out. It works very well!

I was looking for a quality silicone cover for our new induction oven and thought the Raku cover would be perfect. However, the cover is significantly less transparent than I expected and extremely glossy and I could barely see the outlines of the heating areas and none of the other controls and indicators on the surface. See attached photo of the oven with the cover. It was also longer than our 30 inch oven and I would have to cut it to size which would further detract from the looks of the oven. Will be sending the item back, sadly!
