This is my first experience with a folding bike lock, it was pretty simple to figure out. It feels and looks heavy duty and the locking mechanism itself looks strong. The metal surface is matte black and it looks like it could easily ding your frame if it hits or falls on your bike. It is not very long, so the bike would have to be sidled up pretty close to whatever you are securing it to if you want to put it around the frame of the bike. I have an e-bike, which is already heavy, the added weight of the lock will probably not make much of a difference. If securing your bike in an area easily accessible to other people, I wouldn't rely on only one lock anyway. This lock seems like it will give thieves some difficulty but this lock in combination with other locks will, at the very least, make it harder for someone to steal your entire bike, or take them longer to do it. I've seen frames with no tires, or tires with no frames still locked to the object it was secured to. No lock is 100 percent indestructible.

This is a strong bike lock with an easy to open lock. Let me cover my POSITIVES and COULD BE IMPROVED areas.POSITIVES:- Six strong steel pieces that can defy even a large bolt cutter. Recessed bolts connect the arms and make it hard for a thief to attack the weakest link.- Lock opens easily and even has a quick-flip plastic top to protect from dirt and dust.- Connect lock frame to water bottle screws on the bike or use the hefty straps to connect it. Two ways to secure it.- Quick flip plastic latch to open the frame and remove the lock.- Three keys - not two but three!COULD BE IMPROVED:- Nothing comes to mind. I liked everything about this. Including the fact there is a larger model available. This is a strong and secure lock. I really liked the heft, the three keys and the small features (lock cover) that show this is a quality item to secure your investment. I am looking at the larger model to go around a pole and my frame/tire.

I ordered this lock to use on my ebike. Many locks are vulnerable to common tools that thieves use. Cable locks are easily cut with cable cutters, while padlocks and most chains are easily cut with bolt cutters. The design of this lock makes it highly resistant to those tools. The features I like best about this lock are these:1. The design uses flat steel bars hinged together which makes it more resistant to cutting tools.2. The 37 inch length works for most locking situations.3. It comes with three keys and the lock cylinder has a pick resistant design.4. It folds up into a reasonably compact unit when not in use.5. The steel bars are coated with a hard plastic shell to prevent damage to the bike finish.6. It weighs less than many chains, but offers a higher level of security for its weight class.7. The construction looks and feels durable and is likely to thwart theft attempts, especially where easier targets exist. The only thing I dislike about this design is that it can be a little more awkward to put the lock in place. There are some circumstances where a chain or cable would work, but this one won't. It works with all regular type bike racks or posts, but it won't fit around a tree, for example.Overall, this is a good sturdy lock with more theft resistance than many other locking methods. I find it works well for me when I need to park my ebike while I'm in a store, post office, or wherever.

I will only use this at my work parking station only, as this is too heavy to carry around. This will only assist my U-lock, as the joints are the area of attack that will not survive too well with any cutting tools. Significantly heavier than my Kryptonite Evolution U-lock but less secure, then why did I bother get this? My Mini may be darn secure, but defeatable and not very flexible. I would have a hard time wrapping around anything thicker than a narrow signpost. This lock is flexible enough to wrap around even the thickest post. Also, most bike thieves would NOT bother with a bike that requires two or more cuttings. When, there are more expensive bikes that can be had with one or two cuttings. Rechargeable carbide saws can defeat just about all lock with in a few minutes. The only hope is making it a bit little more difficult for them.

This lock is quite sturdy and handy. It's a heavy duty key lock where you can swipe the red button to cover up the key insert from being exposed to elements. For its durability and length it's actually lighter than most horseshoe locks that don't cover anywhere near the same distance, but yet this one folds up nicely and takes up less space than most locks, and mounts right to your bottle holder. It can work around several angles but only in one direction. You can lock up just about any personal transporter and possibly the battery and motor if it's electric. It definitely costs more than a lot of other locks, but it's strong and not going to be phased by the usual theft methods.
