Consistent with another Comica device that I own, this one is great quality. The sound is crystal clear, and has a great cardioid response, almost no pickup from the sides at all, so directly in front of the mic. Also, it takes a loud sound like shouting and in close range with no distortion! See the pic. This makes for a very clean and clear vocal that you do not have to use noise cancelling for. The mic cover is very nicely snug and is not just a foam pad but has the cage over it. You can operate this while plugged in if you need to, no click or clipping noise when plugging it in. You do have to watch it not to have anything in between the transmitter and receiver, per instructions. Very light weight and nice to hold. Easy to work with.If you're going to be working in video, however, you'll need a USBC to analog coverter, if your camera/DSLR has a "mic" input. But that's easy to solve.

I occasionally shoot interviews for a news website, and have long used products from Rode or other makers with my camera and/or my iPhone. But, when used with an iPhone, those things tend to also require you to use cages or other supports so you can attach the receiver unit for use with the phone, and then there's pairing and, sometimes, a battle to get my video app to see the thing. Not with this Comica. I've never seen any audio device this super-simple before. Charge the mic, go to your shoot, pull the USB-C dongle from it's storage location on the bottom of the microphone and plug it into your phone. Open your app and record. In more than a dozen uses, it's not failed yet. It's worked with the Apple Photos app, with Filmic Pro, Final Cut Camera, Voice Record, etc. I didn't even need to select a microphone. It just worked.Battery life on the mic seems sufficient for most uses. One one recent night, we did several interviews, each several minutes in length, and there was plenty left for the next couple of projects. I can't tell you when the battery runs out, because it hasn't run out on me yet (admittedly, I make sure it's charged before I go out).It looks great. I like that it's got its own integrated microphone flag, allowing you to add your own branding for a polised professional look.If it's got any one weakness, it's that I'd like some options for a little more gain. It's nice that it has some noise reduction settings, but I'd like just a little more volume in the recording without having to bump it up in post. All in all, I love it, and look forward to many successful future recordings.

Works great. Used it recently for interviews at the Builders Show which were large venues with LOTS of noise and this filtered out the background noise and picked up me and the people being interviewed perfectly. Was worried it would pick up all the surrounding noise making the videos hard to hear, especially on a budget priced mic, but it worked flawlessly. Much better than my wireless lav mics did. No complicated set up. Just plug the c-type dongle into your phone and turn on the mic and it connects automatically. Battery lasted all day each day I used it. Highly recommended.

Works great and super easy to get up and running. The USB-C receiver fits right into the bottom of the mic and it comes with a carrying case so it all packs together nicely. The name plackard is easily removable and completely blank, so if you wanted to die cut print your logo for a youtube channel or whatever to put it on, it is a fairly large (think slightly bigger than a business card) space you can work with. The mic records very solid. I like that the power button is on the bottom and out of the way from an accidently touch unless the person talking is holding it low or two handed. It does require a slight bit of effort and a few seconds of purposefully holding the button down to turn it on or off so I wouldn't worry about accidental turn offs. There isn't sort of visual queue on the dongle if it's connected, so I highly suggest doing a quick test recording to make sure you are receiving. The build quality is excellent. It's a lightweight metal body.Sound quality is really good and clear. Also I was able to get a good distance away (around 50~60 feet) and still have a solid recording. For what it does and the audience this product is aiming for, the sound quality is pretty much excellent. Of course you can get better with more dedicated equipment, but I see a run and gun tech youtube channel with someone like Steve from Gamers Nexus using this for a quick cell phone shot segment while chatting with a vendor or shooting B roll, and the quality you get from that is excellent. If you're goal is to do a talking head in the field reporting type shoot with a very easy direct USB-C wireless to the phone setup, this could be a very good mic to look at.I've used some Comica mics like the VM-40 and VM-10 for my professional work, so was excited about trying this mic out. Glad to see that the quality/value/results ratio they have also applies to this product.
