I looked so long for something for my Havanese that would not mat her gorgeous fur. I thought I’d found it in this genuine round leather harness. It arrived and I was impressed with the quality and the lovely color. However, the first time we put her into it and took her for a “walkie”, she quite easily slipped out of it as soon as we stopped and rested in a park setting. We had to chase her before she escaped. Sadly, I’m returning it and the hunt is back on. Maybe if your pup isn’t a “Houdini” it will be fine for you!

This is an excellent leash. It prevents my dog's hair from matting and the drawstring style makes it easier to get it on her and tighten it compared to a traditional leash. The harness also detaches from the leash a little higher up as opposed to right on her body, making it easy to unhook when she's excited and anxious to run. I probably wouldn't use it on more rugged terrain but it's perfect for a city dog.

What a well constructed harness and lead set. The leather is rolled soft and comfortably fitted. Easy to place on and remove. Love how the back clip is raised for easy finding to attach the lead to. Going to order more to make sure I have back up. One of the best harness I have purchased for my 5 lb Pom ordered as directed. Thought it was going to small when I opened the package. However it fits perfect !

I have 4 or 5 of these (all white) and have loved them for years. So easy to put on and off for my Maltese. But my daughter wanted a pink one for her new poodle. The color shown in the picture of the harness is a beautiful bright pink but the one I got was a dark, dusky, almost burgundy color. Not at all what we wanted.

Been looking for a no choke harness for my shitzu. This one is simple in design and there’s nothing against her chest. Easy to put on. Looks great. Ordered the mint green but it’s more of a turquoise which is my favorite color! It isn’t adjustable and is just a bit big on my dog. The XS would be too small. I just keep an eye on her to make sure it’s in place. I like the harness enough that it’s worth it.

I purchased this harness for my 8# Yorkie. Her girth is 15" so I ordered the 11" - 16". The metal rings on harness itself, as shown in the listing, are shown to fit up on the dogs back, they actually fit just at the side of her legs. The leather piece that connects at the top to tighten and keep the harness in place, is one piece of leather around both instead of what is shown in the picture for the black lead. This makes it nearly impossible to adjust up or down. The leather is soft but the harness is very stiff. Yes this makes it durable, but very difficult for an older dog to break in the leather. Despite the price, I am very disappointed and would return it if I had another harness handy but we are on the road so this will have to make due with this. I'm going to try a Dogline harness when we get home.

P.S.A Rolled leather reduces the chance of matting, it does not prevent it entirely. You MUST use a bristle brush designed for dogs and follow with a metal tooth comb to remove any chance of matting. Remove the harness whenever it is not necessary. However, rolled leather is kinder on the hair follicles and prevents DAMAGE. Think of split ends. Once a dog’s hair is damaged it will become matted again easily. If you have a dog that can be shaved, do so and have a fresh start. If you have a double coated breed proceed with deep conditioning and high velocity dryers - preferably by a groomer.That being said, this is better quality than I expected for the price. It is soft and light weight for both me and my pom. I love how the leash is detachable from the the step in harness. It makes it easy for a busy indoor/outdoor urban lifestyle.We went on a run with this leash/harness and while it does loosen, the size is perfect for a 6 pound Pomeranian. I will update with a better clasping unit after I find and test it out.I will be ordering more, in other colors. The brown is a beautiful warm natural color.

I hate to write this review, because the harness and leather is great quality and beautiful. Very soft and comfortable for my 3.5 pound Pomeranian and looks great on her coat. HOWEVER, at the beach this summer while on a walk in this harness, she was able to free herself when she saw a pitbull she wanted to greet about a 100 yards away. Had this not been on a beach and on a street - I fear I would have never got her back or she may have been hit by a car. We eventually caught up with her when she reached the (thankfully) friendly pit and his owner. The issue lies with how the harness is adjusted and tightened - there is no clamp to keep it in place after it is sized to the dog. So if the dog has been walking in it for more than a few minutes, its movements gradually loosen its hold and quickly becomes a hazard. This is how she freed herself. I wish there was an attachment to this item that would hold it in place because I genuinely love everything about it but had to discontinue use because of the safety concern.
