This is a solid product! I use this thing all the time for things I've never would have thought about using one for until I had it. The chain is so much more convenient than having a cable come along if you don't have one I highly recommend it!

I bought this to install a 100 pound, 5 HP motor in an inline exhaust fan above a ceiling. Could I have installed it without this chain hoist? Probably not. Would I have tried to anyway? Heck no. Buy this chain hoist and save your back! Be a smart person!

This chain-fall is quite compact and portable. Small enough that it can hang on the side of my toolbox keeping it handy. I do a lot of pulling and lifting around our place and this tool is earning its keep. In an example, lawn mower blade sharpening is always a chore but now I can just use this chain-fall to lift the front of our mower up long enough to get jack stands under it. Reverse the direction and let it down on the stands. Now pop the blades off and swap them out with a sharpened set. Now that I’m done I can lift it back up, get the stands out and slowly lower it back to the floor. Works nice. The reversing clutch works smooth when letting the chain back out. This clutch holds the item as you ratchet it up taking in chain. Then flip the direction lever and you can slowly ratchet the chain back out lowering the item that was being lifted. Very Controllable. Ratchet handle has a no slip rubber coating. It also has a spinner knob to move the chain through quickly when not under any load. The housing has a hook and the chain end has a hook. Both of these hooks can swivel and have safety catches to keep them from jumping off of whatever you have connected them to. The free end of the chain has a large bit on it that keeps the chain from coming out of the chain sprocket/dog in the housing. That large bit is really nice because some others only use a small metal ring that can come off if your not careful. This one should not fall off. By the way, 10 feet of chain, that's awesome. Please remember Safety, this tool is for lifting or pulling only and you should never get under or behind a lifted item until you have safely secured it with stands or stops. Make sure the hooks are completely engaged on something strong and appropriately secure for the task at hand. This is a Strong Chain come-a-long so it need something just as strong to connect to. A 500 pound item falling on you or your hand is not ever going to work out well. Sorry but my wife calls me Safety Man and I just want to help keep everyone else safe also. Enjoy this great tool.

So far so good working out in the field will update if anything changes. Loving the heavy duty handle on it easy to hold onto and to crank up on it compared to other versions with smaller handles.
