These swords work great for Sports Chanbara (SpoChan). They allow you to spar at full speed and full contact and don't hurt at all (unless you get hit in the head). The quality is excellent. The handle is a textured rubber that is very grippy unless your hand get very sweaty. Older versions of the swords had cloth hand wraps on the hilt that seemed to handle that problem a little better. With that said, I highly recommend these swords. I haven't found anything that is this great for full-speed sword sparring.As a side note, If you are going to use these for Chanbara then I'd recommend getting some sort of head gear and padded MMA gloves. It can really hurt when you knock knuckles with your opponent or get hit in the side of the head at full speed.
