If you cannot afford OEM and most can't, you will not be disappointed in the quality of CDI parts, ohm out same as OEM.

Originally went with another brand to save a few bucks and that was a mistake. Returned it and bought this and it fit perfect and works perfect! Wires were longer than factory in my application but thats a lot better than too short. Sometimes it pays to get the good stuff. CDI Electronics is the only way to go for these replacements.

Don't waste your time with the Sierra brand stator for the 1980s Mercury 70hp 3 cylinder outboard. Wires are too short. This CDI brand is made much better and will last longer, and the price is the same. The wires will be extra long which is better than too short. CDI is American made too! Bolted right up, engine fired right up!

Got an old outboard? Have old outboard ignition problems? Welcome CDI. Quality products. Exact fit. CDI just kind of nails it every time. Open windings for better cooling. Excellent build quality. The CDI website makes it easy to look up the exact part you need. Copy/paste in to Amazon and your GTG. Wow this sounds like a commercial....To summarize, 1976 Merc 850. Worked fine.

This worked perfectly on my 1986 50 horsepower Mercury outboard. I would definitely suggest this item if you are needing a stator.

I made the error of purchasing this item several months before I would need it. Now, having installed it on my Mercury outboard, the engine won't start and the item tests bad. I'm sure that it's not the norm as this product has reasonably good history, but lesson learned for me not to order so far in advance.
