I didn’t buy this for furniture—I got it for my houseplants. My cat has a bad habit of chewing on leaves, and since some plants aren’t safe for cats, I needed a deterrent. I sprayed this around the base of my pots and on the leaves of a few non-toxic plants, and guess what? She won’t go near them anymore! The smell is noticeable at first, kind of herbal with a citrus hint, but it fades after a while. It hasn’t damaged any of my plants, and my cat now walks past them without taking a nibble. I also tested it on my rug where she occasionally scratches, and she’s definitely been avoiding that spot too.

I had high hopes for this cat deterrent spray because my two cats have a bad habit of scratching up my couch and knocking things off my shelves. After using it for a couple of weeks, I can say it does help—but with some limitations.It’s made with natural ingredients and is non-toxic. I’m always cautious about what I use around my pets, so knowing this is safe. The scent is quite strong when first sprayed—kind of a citrusy, herbal smell. It’s not unpleasant to me, but my cats definitely dislike it, which is the point. They immediately backed away from areas where I sprayed it, at least at first.However, The spray needs to be reapplied frequently, especially on high-traffic areas like the couch and door frames. If I forget to spray for a day or two, my cats start testing their boundaries again. It also doesn’t seem to work on every surface—one of my cats still scratches a wooden table leg no matter how much I spray it, but it works well on fabric furniture.

We have a couple of cats that we adore and dote on. We appreciate their company and companionship. Unfortunately, they like to sharpen their claws on our furniture and carpets.
