Measurements were dead on and it replaced the foam in my case perfectly.

I wanted to construct a custom case for a new firearm. The ready made ones cost $150-200. I bought a Milwaukee medium size case at HD. This thing is super heavy duty. I had to reduce the size of the foam slightly to fit the case properly. I did this by cutting off the perimeter on one side and the bottom. After this, it fit the case perfectly. Then I plucked out the sections necessary to make a custom fit for my weapon. This was pretty simple. Next was the top layer. It was a little too thick. Luckily, I have a friend who owns one of those hot wire foam cutters. I took the foam over there and reduced the foam pieces thickness by half. It took a little while, but that's only because I'd never done it before and I was being careful. The custom case came out great. As good as anything I could have bought. For half the price or less. Plus, now anybody looking at it just thinks there's some tool in the case. This is a great way to go.
