18” center for installation points for these steps. My F150 has pre drilled factory holes in the frame, (as do all) some of the Carr mount holes are close but none of them line up. The steps themselves are really nice, however, the mounts are a complete FAIL. I almost sent the steps back as I’m not interested in drilling more holes in the truck. I ended up making mounts that utilized the pre drilled factory holes, used threaded body clips and attached the steps to the new mounts. Way stronger and the proper way to do it. All Carr had to do was modify the mounts a bit to make them fit the vehicles being sold for.

Some minor installation issues but nothing exceptionally difficult to address. Sturdy with good slip resistance. Seem to be a dirt magnet so glad I went with black,

Nice and wide, decent area to step on.We put it on both front doors and the side barn door or our 2002 E350 Econoline Van.Easy enough to install except we needed to reinforce the one by the side barn door because of less structural support.A little bit of engineering later and we have a solid step.

Couple weeks post install. So far, overall happy with the quality and function. ~17" of useable width provides a nice size platform that allows some leeway in placement of the step. Non-slip surface is good dry, wet, sand/mud covered. Straight forward, simple install (Chevy 1500). Mounting on the rocker panel, exposing bare steel(drilled mounting bracket hole), area that gets hit with road salt/water = high rust risk. Hit the drilled holes with some primer and paint. Silicone caulk applied. Maybe not necessary, but probably cannot hurt. Adds a few minutes to install time. Only negative was the mounting hardware provided. Using a 1/4" drive that was gripped at the socket head ended up shearing one the four bolts used to mount the step to the brackets. No extra bolts provided. 1-2 hour job ended up taking 2 days. Drove into town next day and picked up a replacement bolt and nut plus some spares. No real trust in the other 3 bolts. 4*s for now. Test of time to earn 5th *. Carr USA made quality step. Guessing junky, cheap, poor quality control mass sourced made in India/China/..... hardware.

hardware was junk didnt use any of it except the flimsy bracket. hardware replacement cost $17. 1 step had paint chips. Instructions did not apply for my vehicle even though they were ordered for it specifically. I WILL NEVER PURCHASE A CARR PRODUCT AGAIN!

This is a solid well made step. However if you are installing it on a truck like mine 97-04 F150 it does not extend out past the rocker panel enough. Also I had to grind off some of the front bracket on the drivers side to clear the e-brake cable. Yes - I bought the part number with right brackets for my truck.

Installation on my 1989 Ford Econoline 4x4 van took over an hour for the first one and about 15 minutes each for the next two. The Carr instillation video is good and helpful. I drilled before checking twice and used the larger bit so had to move to another spot and redo. The steps feel solid and look great, facilitating easier access for my young boys and others into the back and passenger side and for me as the driver. I was going to get a full custom rock slider rail but decided to save the money and go for these. If they break, which I imagine they will if they take a solid hit from a rock or stump, then I'll replace them and still be under what custom would have cost. And if I install these again it will be a breeze since I have already done it 3x.Bottom line: Highly recommend. Solid. Good looking. Functional. Good price.

Look great on my 2013 Silverado. Directions are alittle vague but after watching a video on youtube a couple of times the directions made sense and installation was a breeze. Important to have good sharp drill bits.

Excellent build quality, the mounts look like they might be a little light in the strength department but the sheetmetal they are fastened to is thinner metal than they are so its all good, mine were mounted by me on a 1991 Dodge Ram 250 Diesel to assist my Mother in getting into the tall truck, she's nearing 80 and we go camping all summer long, I just never wanted to see her fall down ever again and these are the ticket. What I am going to be doing is make up some aluminum 24 inch or so wide plates to put between the mounts and the body metal to stiffen the mounting area and help spread the load over a larger area as there is some inherent flex in the metal due to its thickness, this should make the body metal flex a whole lot less and reduce the chance of stress cracking near the mounts, again it's not the step mounts but the body metal itself that flexes some when weight is applied, the steps are quite easy to install but I had to adjust the mounting points some from the recommended measurements due to body drain holes with rubber plugs being in the exact area where the instructions indicated I should place the mounts.I bought the black 20 inch steps as the bright polished steps had the direction to wax them to keep them shiny, I'm not about to wax an area where an elderly Lady is going to rely on to assist herself into a vehicle and will be wet now and then.I did a lot of research for price including shipping on these before purchase, I had found a new pair for quite a bit cheaper on another site but they didn't last long, Amazon gave me a trial spin on the Prime shipping option so they cost me nothing to ship, Amazon is the cheapest place I found anywhere to purchase these steps, as far as I'm concerned you cant go wrong with these steps or buying them here.

I recently purchased this pair of Carr Super Hoop truck steps. I mounted them on my Ford F150. I mounted them under the door sill rather then behind the door sill. They look nice and are as rigid and strong as one might hope for. I am please I bought them Amazon had the best price.Roy

I installed it by mounting to the frame rather than the rocker panel using self threading bolts I obtained elsewhere. I was worried about the sheet metal of the rocker panel being strong enough. The loop looks and functions well, but the mounting brackets seem wimpy for their purpose. The back portion should be reinforced or maybe some creases added to increase rigidity. The only flex in the system once they are mounted is at the back of the mounting brackets.
