Works ok as long as you clean the surface. I only used this for extra sealing around the door as I had some leaks. Also helped sound proofing as well.

Got rear ended and had to add some weatherstripping to my truck lid to keep it waterproof. Didn't seem like the adhesive was gonna be great as I was applying it, but I haven't had any issues since installing it 6 weeks ago.
