One of the mounting holes on the pipe was a 1/4 of a hole off the mounting hole on the engine. Had to preload the pipe to make it fit.

I took an extra o ring and slid it over the end of the pipe to seal it. It did not fit without mods none the less. Held good for 50 miles so far.

There's not much to this... These are plastic pipes used to transfer coolant to and from the heater in older BMW M52s and M54s.They work. They fit. They are clearly cheaper than the OEMs and are perhaps a bit thinner, but they slid right in and are holding pressure so they're better than the originals that have dissolved where they enter the block.Note; if you overheated your engine enough to melt the ends off, you probably have engine damage.Anyway, these work fine at a fraction of the cost of the originals. Will they last 23 years? Probably not. But if they last 10 you're money ahead.

Unfortunately after installing this product it is not possible to test whether or not it works correctly until you install all the other parts back onto the engine. That being said once I was put back together there was a leak towards the rear of the engine. The only possible cause of this would be the coolant pipe. It was a hard fit to get into place but did eventually fit correctly. Fault may be due to hose to pipe connection. Other than that product was of good quality and Seemed like it was made to withstand many hours of operation. Product also arrived very quickly

The more bent pipe fit terribly. The 2 bolts didn't line up very well, so the pipe is under stress when installed. Worse yet, it rubs on / pushes against the throttle body. Also, the cable box that goes under the intake manifold could not be bolted back into place because the it was hitting the coolant pipe.
