There is some confusion about the dimensions of this bit, even a Bosch rep answered a question inaccurately. Please see the attached photo.

Great product but read dimensions carefully. This model used to be 1/2 cutting surface but now it's only 7/16. My fault for not reading the description better. This is the model I've always used so I typed it in and ordered it without looking.Updated: after contacting Bosch about the dimension discrepancy they informed me that all Bosch bits with this model number have 1/2 cutting surface and couldn't verify where this bit originated. I do not know if this is a genuine Bosch part and I haven't used it yet because this dimension is useless to me. Buyer beware. Changed my 4 star review to 1 because if doubt that it is most likely a knockoff.Updated: Bosch contacted me yet again to inform me that this is in fact a genuine Bosch product. The discrepancy comes from it being an older model number. Instead of referencing the cutting length this product is referencing the flute length. A lot of research put into this put product seems legit now and Bosch makes the best bits available.

a ruoter bit is what it is. as long as its sharp and stays in the chuck there's no much else to it. this bit fulfilled all of these requirements but after less than 1/2 an hour running time it broke. the cutting portion broke off the 1/4 inch shank. i was only cutting wilsonart countertop laminant so there was no extreme stress involved. thus the two star rating. i am assuming it to be defective rather the inhierant to the product. i have used other bosch bits and my experience with them is that they don't remain sharp very long.
