This sous vide immersion circulator generally looks and feels well made. It is straightforward to use as far as operation. The only thing that felt wonky to me is that the app requires a third party app (Smart Home app) to get the smart functions up and running. Other than that, I am satisfied with this.

Easy to use and works perfectly. Temperatures seem consistent. It even has an app that you can connect to.

This is an interesting kitchen gadget. It is pretty well-made. Has good screw clamps. As others mentioned, the instruction manual doesn't match the product as it should. The cleaning instructions are also not what I hoped for.The app is a third party one so beware. There are 40 recipes, but anything you want to use it for outside if that is questionable.Make sure you get strong bags to put your food in as you cook it in water.Watch out as you can overcook items. This is pretty quiet and has good circulation for the heat. I wish it heated a little faster, but not as bad as it could be. Temperature seems to be accurate give or take a few degrees.Takes some time and researching videos to use. I'm still practicing and discovering but the couple of things I've tried have done well.Might not be everyone's cup of tea.

The whole reason I am getting it is because I need something to produce consistent results and it did. The usage is pretty straightforward after going through the manual and some youtubing. I wish the starting heat-up time is quicker, but i guess that's what 1000w can only do. Another thing is I wish the clip/stabilizer is removable or height adjustable. It's not a deal break, but still a very nice unit. Recommended on a tight budget.

I have cooked with sous vide machines for several years and find it especially good when I have large and important holiday meals to prepare. It is excellent for achieving the exact degree of doneness that you want and for tenderizing meats that require long slow cooking. Because sous vide cooked foods will not get more done due to the temperature control of the cooking water, you don't have to worry that multi tasking a special dinner will result in over cooking a special cut of meat. I was interested in an additional sous vide machine because I sometimes want to cook more than one item -- the vegetable and the meat or the vegetable and the dessert -- for the same meal. Because the cooking temperatures are different, you need two water baths and two machines. As mentioned by other reviewers, the instruction booklet does not match the markings on the machine and some of the instructions are not possible to perform requiring multiple steps or pauses and presses of specific lengths. The instructions are unclear and in some instances don't make good sense. If you are experienced with sous vide cooking you can get there but these controls are not nearly as easy as some sous vide machines I have or have had. The instructions also do not contain the many cautions that are so common in most instructions booklets. Getting the right temperature and the right amount of cooking time is very important to assure that you do not get food poisoning. That is not mentioned in this instructions booklet. The app provides instructions for a 40 recipes that you can follow to get you started in sous vide cooking. I did not install the app on my cell phone for several reasons. One is security -- I am not a fan of all provisions to access my personal data which are required. Two is that I have had a sous vide machine in the past that worked solely with app based recipes and I was not able to set the cooking temp myself. When the company went bankrupt, my machine was useless and an expensive piece of equipment had to be thrown away. Three is that I am sure that I am interested in more than 40 recipes on this machine and I can access more detailed instructions online or in my cookbooks. Why clutter my cellphone with another unnecessary app? Fortunately, this machine is able to be operated without the app.The cleaning instructions for after use care are unclear and it was impossible for me to achieve what they are asking me to do which is essentially to disassemble the machine. The design of the machine is similar to others and the screw clamp on the side is a good feature that is better than some other machines. I did not feel that the heating was faster than other sous vide machines I have experienced but the machine gave good circulation to the water which would achieve uniform cooking. Temp was accurate to within 10 degrees although that can make a lot of difference when cooking something like a tenderloin (125 rare, 130 medium rare, 135 medium). I really don't want to ruin an expensive cut of meat. I felt that the cord was rather short and required me to plug in the machine in a container of water that had to be pretty close to the outlet. Not long enough to use on the undercounter outlet on my island without placing the large container of hot water right near the edge. All in all this is a good "starter" machine to see how you like sous vide cooking. It has the basics but has several issues as well. Remember that you will need a sous vide cookbook or access to online instructions. You will also require heavy ziploc bags to place the food in and submerge in the water bath. You don't have to have a vacuum machine and can use a zip lock and exhaust the air out of it before cooking.

Yesterday was my first ever sous vide experience and it was with this machine. How it took my 62 years to learn about cooking in this way, I don't know. I guess it always appeared as sort of a niche thing but I can now see using this for all kinds of things including, and maybe even especially the continuing problem of reheating smoked meat leftovers without destroying them! Happily the 12 quart sous vide container I ordered a week and a half after ordering this arrived on the same day as this machine so I did pork chops in it...my first meal at home with my wife off island for a couple of weeks. This machine was super easy to use. It heated the water quickly and maintained it at the set temperature with no problem (I checked it with my instant read thermometer). It was so quiet that while the water was still cool I had to put my hand under it to find out if the water was circulating. It didn't sound like it was on. The app is super easy to use and pairs quickly with the machine. The only criticism I would have of the app is that you can't peruse the various recipes stored in it unless the sous vide machine is on and paired with it. Not a HUGE problem but I had hoped that would be something I could look at in advance of my cook and for ideas on others. No worries. Lots of sites online for sous vide recipes. With my wife off island I am hoping to find something to cook that would not suffer from sitting in the water all afternoon so that I can turn it on and get cooking an hour or two before I arrive home so that it's ready when I get there. The capability seems to exist but probably since it would hold temperature for multiple hours without overcooking or drying out the food, it would be best to just get it started after lunch and let it hold until I get there. However, in terms of meat consistency, you CAN "overcook" and the meat will turn out mushy. Want to avoid that but again, with this machine, the capability exists for a currently single guy needing an easy way to cook a dinner meal without a partner to help.Good machine and I wish I'd bought one earlier!!
