TLDR; Make sure your stem doesn't clamp only on the steerer extensionThis product might not fix your problem. In hindsight it is my fault that this item broke, but it's worth it to know whether this will solve your problem or not. Basically, if your stem is ONLY (or mostly) going to clamp onto this extension, do not purchase it. This can work if one stem bolt is clamped to the original steerer tube and one bolt is clamped to the extension, with some extra headset spacers at the top. In my case, I had about 1 millimeter of the original carbon steerer tube that the stem clamped onto, and as such it only clamped onto the extension. Because of the design of the compression plug, only ONE bolt was holding the entirety of my handlebars and upper body weight, and because of the loading, it snapped.If I installed this correctly I'm sure this product would be great and work fine, it's just 100% user error

This may work for light on road riding applications but not safe under higher stress off road/ jumping use. If you need a strong extension, go to a through bolt design (as in the picture).

I very much like this product!The functionallity is great.I am new to mountain biking.Less than 1 year, and I have very much truly enjoyed learning, working on and riding my mountain bike!I plan on becoming more and more interested, and involved in this hobbie that is somthing I truly love to do !
