They are lead(graphite), they workI am not rating durability because I do not think the very design of pencil lead is on any way durable

I use mechanic pencils for doing the day crosswords in the newspaper.This package should last for a while !These leads do break fairly easily, bu the they all do...and they fall on the floor just like al the others.

How can you go wrong with pencil lead? I guess it could be too hard, too soft, or too brittle, but this lead by BAZIK works great for me and is a great value. Great that it comes in a multi-pack, too, so I can stock up and remove "running out of lead" from my list of things to worry about.
