One pin was shorted to ground. I took it apart and found that it was molded poorly and one of the pins was exposed through the plastic. Further, the metal shell came dangerously close to short an entire row of pins! I can't return it now that I took it apart, but at least I discovered the short before frying my equipment!

This does the job to connect two VGA video cables together.Be aware that the vendor/manufacturer has used commodity parts to assemble this connector, so it does not have nuts on both sides that your standard VGA cable will screw into.Expect that cables can (will?) become disconnected (once you have them squirrelled away in a place where you can't get to them easily... ;)I'll keep this as a backup, but looking around for something better.
