I bought this leather dye in suntan because I wanted to change a pair of cream-coloured shoes. I wasn't really able to find good swatches online and I was hoping this wasn't going to be too orangey, I'm very happy with how it turned out.On the cream-coloured shoes I got a nice light-medium tan tan colour result with 3 coats. I also did a pair of slightly pinkish shoes that were a lot more porous because the leather was older, and they turned a nice rich tan color. In both cases I wiped the shoes down with acetone. Then I sprayed them with 70% isopropyl alcohol and while the alcohol was still wet, I started applying the dye in a small circular motion. You need to make sure you don't oversaturate the little wool applicator because it'll just all run off the shoe/project. After I had coated the whole shoe, I wiped it off with a clean paper towel and let it sit to dry. Then I sprayed with the alcohol again and did a subsequent coats, again wiping right after I finished application. This prevented streaks and splotches. I have a leather conditioner I will follow up with .The older, more porous shoes turned much darker but still turned out really well and I used the same method as I did with the other pair to equally good results, although very different colours.I used the acetone and the alcohol because a Google search told me that would suffice instead of paying for the pre-treatments and it worked out quite well. If I had wanted the cream-coloured shoes to take on more colour more quickly, I probably could have gone over them with the acetone again because they are brand new shoes & not at all porous. This was pretty fast and easy and I would definitely do it again

The dye, 5 stars. The advertised color swatch vs. the actual color is 1 star. [ Pictured "Suntan" swatch vs. my swatch ]I am refinishing a vintage bag and am having the hardest time finding the right color. Both "Suntan" and "Russet" were advertised with very red dyes -- when holding up my bag next to them on the computer, they both appeared to be pretty close to the original color I am looking to freshen up. Upon swatching the "Suntan," it is nowhere near the advertised color; it is a light tan, whereas the advertised swatch is more of a sunburnt lol. I'll be returning the "Russet" rather than swatching it because I'm worried that too is not a red and don't want to waste the product.

Excelente el tono del color, súper bien pigmentado y muy fácil de usar! Solo hay que considerar la cantidad, para un par de bota si hay que usar más de 1 envase!

I got some beige shoes that I wanted to dye closer to my skin tone. I initially took them to a cobbler who told me he wouldn't be able to dye the upper and the strap like I wanted. I opted to do it myself and bought this product in "Suntan". It was pretty easy to apply the coats and the product dried very fast. My one gripe is that this dye is very runny, so it's easy to end up with streaks. Anyway, not bad for my first attempt.

I use it to dye leather for model horse saddles and bridles that I make. Goes on evenly and dries within 24 hours.

First time using this leather dye and I feel there is a learning curve. It covers nicely however ends up streaky when dry. Perhaps it would blend if sealed with a clear coat? I followed all tutorials online and directions on package so slightly disappointed. Color is brilliant on leather regardless of being new to leather dying.
