Had a Major Mishap with our 35 year old, very -very expensive custom Anderson patio door. Needed a replacement for this part that goes through the lockset for the door handles. It fits and works perfectly!

Haven’t installed yet (cold winter weather), but looks like the old one, so I’m fairly sure it will work. If not, Plan B (try again)!

Our Andersen door's lock broke, so I contacted Andersen customer service. We Facetimed so they could diagnose what could be done, and the rep said it was good news - the spindle could be replaced. They would send out a technician to do for $150. I asked if it was an easy DIY project and the rep said if I was handy, it sure was. She quoted me $12 for the part, plus $15 shipping. Uh, no thank you. I hopped on Amazon and found it for $8.99, free shipping, and my 5% Amazon card discount. This was four months ago and the spindle has withstood roughly 6-10 trips out that door each day, plus locking it every night.
