These are darker compared to my 10x & 20x lenses! They easily lose focus. I'm not really sure if these issues are supposed to be normal or not! The lenses I received do not look like the photo! I took pictures with my phone camera up to the lenses so it actually makes it brighter. The first pic is my 20x and the second pic is the 30x. I was going to send them back but after messing with the lighting I might keep them if this is actually AmScope selling them.

I needed higher magnification on my Amscope stereo microscope -- more than adding the Barlow lens to the objective (below) would provide with my 20x eyepiecesI was apprehensive, because the single review of the 30x on Amazon wasn't good. I took a chance, and I think the clarity is every bit as good as the 20x eyepiece. I had to add extra light to the subjects (beyond my 144 LED ring light on the Amscope) at higher zooms when using the 30x eyepiece -- but one would expect that. I'm very satisfied. The Barlow lens degrades the image a lot more than any difference between the 20x and 30x eyepieces.

Clarity wasn't there for what I needed. This may be one of those things that you get what you pay for. I returned them shortly after trying them out.
