Very happy i stumbled across this inductive ammeter. I was grabbing trouble finding an ammeter that did DC amps, and this fit the bill.Works well, and very reasonably priced.Highly recommended.

If you're doing any DC power electronics work I highly recommend getting this! Being able to effortlessly measure DC amps without disconnecting anything in your circuit is well worth the money. One thing to watch out for: you need to press the yellow button to switch from AC to DC, and you need to zero the sensor immediately before use every time.

UPDATE: 1-30-17 Well another year gone by and this thing still rocks. I did have to replace the battery but that's all.One thing I have noticed just today is that it does not do a good job and super low DC voltages. It only shows the first number afterthe point. So if you need to see more than 1/10 of a volt it does not show it. Perhaps there is a setting I am missing.UPDATE: 2-17-16So it has been just over a year and I thought I would give a quick update on this super awesome meter. Well, it's still super awesome and worth every penny. I use this meter all the time and it still looks brand new. The leads are still super flexible and it works perfect. And I don't baby this meter. It is clipped to the outside of my big tool bag. Super durable. This is truly the cats meow for this price. Let me start by saying that I started my hunt for a good AC/DC clamp meter by getting the Mastech MS2108. It had pretty good reviews and so I made the plunge at about Eighty bucks. Sadly it had several flaws including not being properly calibrated and so I sent it back. After that I purchased the Sinometer UT207 at about One Hundred bucks. Very nice meter and without most of the problems I had with the Mastech but unfortunately having the same calibration issue as the Mastech and so it got sent back also. So then I searched and searched for days. I must have gone through about 30 pages of meters when I finally came across this one. Amprobe is the first company to build the clamp meter and was purchase by Fluke years ago. I have heard some say this brand is Flukes low end line but truly if this is low end then I am a happy camper indeed. Let me start out by it's size. It's about 10" tall by about 2" wide or so. The clamps are narrow and long enough to get into tight places ( tighter than my friends high end Fluke). They open wide enough to just about cover any size wire you can find. I work in the Solar RV industry and I work with 4/0 cables all the time and this has no problem with them. It also has a special spot on the clamp and selection dial for smaller wires like 10 gauge or smaller. The whole meter feels like it is made with a firm rubber coating on the sides so it is easy to hold and even the dial has this feel to it making it easy to turn. The buttons are simple and easy to use and the back light works perfect giving a orangeish tint. The leads on this meter are silicone leads and of the highest quality. The meter has a good easy to hear beep when using both the NCV detector or the continuity selection. And the biggest plus is this thing is fast. It zero's out on the DC side very quickly and gives accurate measurement faster than any other meter I have used. I was very surprised at how quickly this thing dials in for a reading. I really have nothing bad to say about this meter and for the price it was worth every penny. It comes with a holding bag and a manual. The manual is for all 4 of the models in this range so it covers some things that this meter does not do. Would I buy this again? From the looks of it I probably won't have to unless I give one as a gift. This will be in my arsenal for a long time I think.
