This exceeded my expectations and is a very nice unit.

I love this bike rack so much. It is so easy to put on an off the car myself HOWEVER, the nylon straps that hold the bikes on are terrible. It takes me forever just to get it laced into the plastic grip. This makes going for a quick bike ride a huge ordeal. I have 5 bikes to strap on and every one of them is difficult.

Have had it for almost two years to haul our 2 Trek marlin 6’s large frames, Nishiku adult bike and Nishiku kids bike. 1-2 times on weekends for trail riding and mountain biking. Most trails we travel 45-2 hours on interstate or backroads and the Rack is still Like New. We love how it fold down when bikes are of, and with the tilt action still can access the back of my SUV. With built in key lock makes for easy and secure attachment to vehicle while others you have to bolt on so that was a huge Plus for safety and easy.Highly recommend.

2 adults, 3 kids. Kids are getting bigger, which means bigger bikes, which means they no longer fit in the back of the minivan with luggage...Clearly, needed a solution and this 5 bike model fit the bill. I haven't loaded all 5 yet, but considering I used to be able to get 5 HEAVY bikes on a trunk mount with MUCH less space, I have no doubt that this one will do great, especially since my wife and I have upgraded to proper road bikes (Giant Defy & Cannondale Synapse) from the unwieldy and chunky big-box store bikes we used to have.Locking system is GREAT and I love how it tightens up in the hitch to prevent a ton of swaying. There will still be SOME swaying, but guess what...your vehicle sways too! I also appreciate the tilt feature so you can open up your minivan/SUV gate if needed; there's quite a few "nice" racks on the market where you'd lose rear gate access completely as long as the rack is on. Not so with this Allen!I'd love to have a "name brand" tray rack someday, but if you're looking to haul multiple bikes without paying more for a rack than you did 2 of your bikes, go with the Allen. The construction is great, the installation is easy, and they are built to last.

Sturdy, easy to install and dismount. Love the sway away feature for easy hatch access. Bikes can be angled to fit any direction. Including my kids' 12" & 16" bikes! I also bought velcro straps to keep the bike wheels from free-spinning and the handlers from turning. I also use the CURT 18050 61-Inch Bike Rack Support Strap that hooks from the bike rack to the top edge of my SUV hatch for added stability. I don't think it's necessary because it's a very sturdy hitch mount, but it gives me peace of mind nevertheless.

Comparing Allen Sports 4 Bike Rack 2” hitch deluxe locking to the Allen Sports 5 Bike Rack 2” hitch deluxe locking. I recently purchased the Allen 4 bike rack, but there were some issues so I decided to trade up to the Allen 5 bike rack. The 4 can hold 4 bikes with a total weight of 140 lbs while the 5 can hold 5 bikes with a total weight of 175 lbs. The 4 weighs 22 lbs while the 5 weighs 26 lbs. The 5 is longer and taller so it’s further away from the car. One of the issues I had with the 4 was the first bike would scratch the rear windshield of my car. The 4 has bolts to remove for the arm to go up and to recline the rack while the 5 has easy switches, but because of the switches the 5 is a little loose and will jiggle. There is about a price difference between the two racks. Both have hitch locks, but you will need locks for the bikes. The bikes will sit very close to each other so you’ll have to play around with their position. The first 4 bikes in the 5 are exactly in the same location and space as the 4, but with the 5 there will be an extra bike spot behind the rack and closer to the car. Hopefully this will help you with the decision on purchasing an Allen bike rack.

Great hitch at a great price. To be honest, i was very afraid of the reviews I saw about the hitch breaking in the middle of the highway. However, this product has performed great for the last 6 months and counting. Its easy to assemble and easy to get the bikes on it. Recommended

I purchased the Allen Sports Deluxe+ Locking Quick Release 5-Bike Carrier for 2 in. Hitch, Model 850QR,Black. After reading some of the reviews, I was worried that I could not get our 5 bikes on and, if I could, the rack would break. But all five bikes easily fit and the rack is sturdy. I have loaded 3 adults bikes (two women's) and 2 smaller bikes for 11 year olds. The adult bikes load the easiest, but it's not difficult to get the kids' bikes on as well. We've gone on 4 outings now, driving on smooth highways and some dirt roads with potholes. The rack has done great!
