Your cart is empty.For precision temperature sensing, nothing beats a Platinum RTD. Resistance temperature detectors (RTDs) are temperature sensors that contain a resistor that changes resistance value as its temperature changes, basically a kind of thermistor. In this resistance sensor, the resistor is actually a small strip of Platinum with a resistance of 100 ohms at 0°C, thus the name PT100. You can also use this sensor to measure any kind of variable resistor that has about 100 ohm of resistance (but can range from half to double that) Compared to most NTC/PTC thermistors, the PT type of RTD is much most stable and precise (but also more expensive) PT100's have been used for many years to measure temperature in laboratory and industrial processes, and have developed a reputation for accuracy (better than thermocouples), repeatability, and stability. However, to get that precision and accuracy out of your PT100 RTD you must use an amplifier that is designed to read the low resistance. Better yet, have an amplifier that can automatically adjust and compensate for the resistance of the connecting wires. Board worked great first try. Used it for my 3d printer running klipper to use a pt100 sensor on the hotend. Plugged it into my RPI and everything worked (almost ) first try (had the wires switched around in the config) which is a first for me. If I’m being honest, I’ve had enough bad experience buying electronic parts on Amazon that I wouldn’t recommend it personally. Looking through these reviews a lot of people were sent pt1000 boards instead of pt100’s. This isn’t super uncommon when buying small electronics on Amazon. Def wouldn’t do it very often unless you’re in a pinch and need a pet asap like I did. Other than that, everything was great and I was sent a genuine adafruit part, which are always high quality. For those wondering btw, the 4301 resistor on the board (look closely for that number) is for a pt1000 and the 431 is pt100. If yours says 4301, it’s the wrong part.

I thought it was DOA but after I bought another one from another firm for less to make sure it was bad, I noticed my mistake in wiring it and it works fine. Mine was PT100 as expected.

It's a PT1000 board, with the 4301 resistor (4300 ohm)The product package had a PT100 sticker slapped over the existing, correct PT1000 sticker, which I can only chalk up to malicious incompetence. Purchase this RTD amplifier direct from Adafruit or get an off-brand. Unacceptable.

These boards are labeled for the PT100 sensors but have the resistor on the board for PT1000 sensors. The PT100 sensors requires a 430 OHM resistor and this has a 4300 OHM resistor.

Took me a while to figure this out, hopefully it will help someone else. This is actually a pt1000. I thought it was a fluke so I ordered another and got another pt1000. Peel the pt100 label off the package and you will see the pt1000 branded on the bag
