Everyone who had issues. I am a licensed mechanic, you do NOT drive this flush, it is meant to stick out so that the seals now ride in a new area. Something also to note is that there are dual seals, one on each side of the bearing. You need to pack grease in the area between the seals which contains the bearings as the axle lube will no longer lubricate them. The axle requires attention also, it is necessary to clean up the part of the axle near where the bearing and seal used to ride. Taking some emery cloth and removing any rust or dirt next to where the old seal rode closer to the hub. Make it shiny so the new seal has a nice clean place to live.

The casing for the bearings is plastic which wont last as long and the seals leaked not even after 2 months of them being installed

Use these on my old 96 blazer. Axle surfaces were not great so these actually will have you money. They do use their own lubrication so the differential oil is not relied upon..they do stick out a little further towards the tire I guess so the bearing can run onto a better surface.

My mechanic, one of his employees, didn't quite know how to install the repair bearing after after explaining to him that that it corrects the groove on the axle shaft to a different position he started to get it and was able to install it with no issues. Working just fine.

First time I have used this repair bearing and it did the job. I read the reviews and the guy who said it sticks out about a quarter inch from the end of the housing is right. It's a very tight fit and make sure you align it evenly when going in. When it stops moving, stop pounding it in. A very reasonable price compared to the parts store which wanted $73 even with my company discount.

This did not fit the stock housing. When pulling this assembly out the plastic cage busted and left the sleeve in the housing. I spent a day cutting the sleeve out of my bearing housing and polishing. This may work as a repair of you have a destroyed bearing housing but this will not work for a direct replacement. These are extremely poor quality anyways. You don’t want a plastic cage on your bearing. I would return them if I could but they are destroyed due to having to cut the sleeves out of the housing.

I bought this because my axle was perfectly good except for the bearing surface on the right axle of my truck. I ordered my 1986 S10 new from the factory. I know everything about the truck, and what I'll be using it for in the future. I've overloaded it several times with 3500lb loads. And it got me there. I want to be able to do the same if absolutely necessary in the future. And that's what stopped me from installing this bearing and just replacing the axle. The bearing requires a heck of a pounding to install, and according to others it is extremely difficult to remove. I started to install it and it stopped moving half way. I stopped and read more about it. It's failed on several vehicles in the reviews, but to be fair, those were not installed by professional mechanics. There's also the question of lubrication. It's has a seal on both sides. Is it supposed to be greased, or does axle lube get past that inner seal and is held in the reservoir the seal provides ? I could not find out.I am keeping my 36y old truck til the end of it or me. I will be in remote mountain locations with no cell service, hunting & cutting firewood. I can't afford to break down. I need to not worry about a critical part. These bearings may be even better than the original, but as it stands, they have a bad reputation. No thanks. A new axle is only $90. I'll consider the $20 cost as a penny-wise, pound foolish lesson.

2 seals instead of 1. very nice will make for a sure seal on old axles. they are meant to stick out a bit so the seal rides in new location not the old worn grove. i see a review that someone tried and pound it all the way in and broke axle tube, yes its not a flush fit.but is as intended to stick out for use seal in new location.

Destroyed itself and gouged the axle up in the process after 10 minutes if use. The race was wedged in there so tight that after slide hammering for hours it finally ripped in half. I had to cut the inner half out of the axle housing with a dremmel.
