The previous owners removed the downspouts due tonthe porch and we just had a waterfall eroding the ground. These were the perfect solution for us and they are relaxing to watch during a good rain. Was a little shirt but that is because the house sits up high. Good quality for the price and I highly recommend

Who wants boring old downspouts when you can have these lovely rain chains to help divert water from washing away your landscaping? The 8.5 ft length is easily shortened by removing as many of the cups as needed to fit in your space. The water flows quickly and easily through the cups and turns the chain into a visually/audibly pleasant water feature. It would be an improvement on the item to have a weight at the bottom. But if you have a basin at the end of a chain you can weight it down with rocks for a nice added design to your landscaping. No more torrents of water boring holes into the ground or washing away smaller, lighter landscaping ground cover.

No issues. Was longer than I needed and I just removed a couple of the funnels. Don't forget, you'll likely need a bowl or basin to catch the water. Looks good and considering the area I had to use it, way better than a random aluminum downspout hanging off the end of the gutter.

This rain chain is beautifully made. It looks attractive but also functions well. It was really easy to get set up and it's the longest rain chain I've ever seen. I'm so happy I finally found one that's long enough to actually divert the water away from my lower deck. It's very soothing to watch the water trickle down the chain. Although it's a really great quality rain chain I still don't see the need for the price to be so high.

I’ve been interested in adding a rain chain as a water feature to not only see but hear during the rain. My experience around rain chains is limited to just what I’ve seen online. We live on a rural southern farm and have acres of pine trees so I really liked the idea of one with pine cone embossed cups. The rain chain seems to be well made and is over 8’ long as advertised. The black finish is that black powder coated type that is commonly used on outdoor products. The cups are a little smaller than I expected and I don’t really see the embossments like I had hoped, but they are still pretty. I originally intended to install this on one of our buildings that has a metal roof only to realize that there is no way I will ever hear the sound of the rain cascading through the cups because the sound of the rain hitting the metal roof is too loud. So I moved it to our pool house where we have a gutter with no downspout – just the water hitting a wooded area past our deck. It was very easy to move since it just hangs in the gutter opening by a V clip. This is a very attractive alternative to a downspout especially in our situation. The description and photos are accurate as described.

There is a valley on my house that there is no way to put any type of gutter on. Its become more and more of a problem with some of the heavy rains we've had over the years with washing my soil away. I've tried a rain barrel, covering that area of the ground with gravel and rocks and everything we could think of except a French drain system. This rain chain does a great job of diverting the flow of that water - breaking it up and stopping the washing. We've had 2 pretty decent rain storms the past week. One was about an inch and a half ...the other was about two and a half inches. While we can have much more during a storm in my area those amounts are pretty typical of what we'd consider a decent rain. The roof is also high enough where I hung the chains I can still use my rain barrel. It's really nice that I can now run the chain to the top of the barrel cover and it breaks it up enough it's not making the cover come loose. I'd been having to leave the hard top on it - which helped break up the water but didn't fill the barrel that well so still had a mess. The length of the chain is perfect. It's well made and looks like it will last forever and makes a great conversation piece it seems....Everyone that sees it asks.....I'm actually thinking to buy a couple more as gifts as have 2 friends who have similar issues....So past being super helpful they are also attractive enough to use for a gift.
