You get what you pay for. The tools are nice but the foil is SOOOO thin it rips easily when burnishing or bending into tight spots.

I've been doing stained glass for almost 37 years, and this is the WORST foil that I have ever used!

I can appreciate a good deal.I believe the center of the tape ring needs more stability but the tape and its quality tools( burnishers) are perfect for stained glass.

Tape is much thinner than 2 mil, probably 1 mil. I have done stained glass for 40 years and was looking for a cheaper version of heavy-duty (1.5 mil) tape. This is certainly cheap, but only light-duty. Does not adhere well either.

I'm a total novice so experienced stained glass makers will have to review how this tape works for soldering. I got it to make a decorative edge on some stained glass pieces I'm attaching with glue, while I work up my courage to actually attempt soldering. This tape works great for my use!The copper-black-backed tape is as described. The 1/4 inch width wraps to front and back and creates tiny copper lines, if I'm very careful and my fingers are cooperating. The adhesive is very strong and keeps the tape exactly where I place it, whether I placed it correctly or not. (User error is rampant here in novice land. ;-D ) I can remove my worst mistakes with scraping, and apply a second more accurate layer of tape if the mistake isn't too bad. The foil comes off the white backing tape smoothly and the tape is more tear-resistant than I expected -- still very delicate but doesn't shred itself when I look at it cross eyed. For my fellow novices who don't look before they leap, this kind of copper tape is used in stained glass work because solder doesn't stick to naked glass. The tape provides a solder-receptive edge, and (if I understand the process correctly), the glass pieces soldered together with solder wire (which makes the distinctive borders on stained glass pieces) and this mysterious flux substance helps the solder wire melt and stick. (I'm getting that from watching the plumber on this This Old House tv program in past years, so take it for what it's worth.) This package of copper foil tape includes tools for soldering -- two different shaped scraper tools (for manipulating the solder wire, maybe?) and a brush for applying the magic flux. I have a small welding iron that was marketed as a mini-iron for fabric (and works surprisingly well on cotton seams) so I just need a few more items to start a new craft hobby. As I mentioned, I'm working up my courage. In sum, this tape works great as a decorative edge on glass or plastic mosaic pieces, with strong adhesive and not too fragile for novices to use. There are two large rolls of it, which gives me plenty of tape for making mistakes and re-doing the taping several times. The included tools are tempting me to use the tape for its intended purpose and have another hobby on my long list. I recommend this product!

This works as it should, is relatively sticky on clean glass, and solders as it should. I did have an issue with it tearing a bit on corners, but I was teaching someone and they may have been pulling a little hard. Seemed to work fine when I used it, and was easy to get the paper backing off. Burnishing tools have worked well, I personally like the smaller tool, but I use a smaller brush for flux. I'll use the brush elsewhere, but a little big for applying flux.

I've been doing stained glass for over 25 years now and simply needed a new burnisher, but when I saw this bundle, I thought why not get 4 plus some foil? I've only ever used the straight burnisher, then I tried the little curvy one and it's amazing! I'm glad that I have choices now. It's very smooth, high quality plastic that doesn't mar or tear the foil or scratch anything. The foil is very thin and is copper backed and the adhesive is very good but doesn't melt out when soldering. I'm really pleased with this kit!
