About this item

  • 6-in-1 Copper Tube Expander Tool: Compact and portable. Includes six sizes - 1/4"(6mm), 3/8"(10mm), 1/2"(12mm), 5/8"(16mm), 3/4"(19mm), and 7/8"(22mm).
  • 1/4-Inch Drill Bit Holder and Carabiner: The drill bit holder features a quick-release design for efficient, hassle-free use, while the carabiner lets you hang it on your belt, tool bag, ladder, or more.
  • High-Strength 45-Grade Steel: Made from high-quality carbon structural steel and treated with high-temperature quenching to ensure a robust construction. It is durable, heat-resistant, and wear-resistant, minimizing the risk of breakage or deformation for safe and reliable use.
  • Wide Application: This HVAC tool set features a 1/4"(6mm) hexagonal handle compatible with most electric drills. It expands copper tubes into a cylindrical or bell-shaped end through rotation, making it ideal for air conditioner repairs, refrigerator maintenance, copper and aluminum tube servicing, and more.
  • Efficient Operation: Featuring a six-in-one design that eliminates the need for frequent size changes, this tool delivers remarkable tube expansion speeds when used with an electric drill—saving you significant time. (Note: The rotational flaring process generates heat; please wear heat-resistant gloves, safety goggles, and other protective gear.)

The 6-in-1 copper tube expander quickly expands soft copper tubes without requiring connectors, making it ideal for welding. Its compact, lightweight design, along with a keychain and quick-release sleeve, ensures convenient portability.

This is a handy swage tool that does indeed do its job, if a bit crudely. With a few practice runs, I managed a clean, expanded end on a common 1/2" copper pipe that received a corresponding piece of copper pipe nice and snug and soldered up nicely. For all of 8 bucks or so, this seems like a good value so far!The tool itself is rather basic, and consists of a series of "steps" that expand a soft metal pipe in increments. The 1/4" hex shaft on the tool is convenient and easy to chuck into a drill, and the included keychain/bit holder is a nice feature. The bit itself is made from a stout steel, and hasn't shown any indications of heavy wear after a handful of passes.I found that going mid-speed was the best approach...no so slow as to have to ram your way through the pipe, but not so fast as to heat up your workpiece until it's smoking-hot.The resulting swaged end on a 1/2" pipe winds up being about 3/8" deep, which is satisfactory. I'd admittedly prefer to have about 1/2" of engagement, but that's not a deal breaker. I'll be soldering up a series of pipes soon for a project, and I'll look forward to using this handy tool and reporting the results!
