I used to be a dealership mechanic, and a lot of the time these days, they try to maximize what you need, without explaining why you need it. If you have air ride on your Mopar or Jeep that uses these elbows up front, chances are - this is 100% what your problem is, but they're going to want to sell you both front Air struts, purge your tank, check and service your compressor, and recommend you change the rear air bags too - all to the tune of about 4-5 thousand dollars. How do I know this? Because it happened to me, and countless other people on an owner's forum I belong to for Ram 1500's. Turns out, the bleed down up front was simply this elbow failing. Changing it out literally takes 15 minutes. If you experience your compressor running constantly, or getting the "waiting for compressor to cool" error message on your dash, or if you wake up and come out to a front end bottomed out - start with these FIRST. You may find this low-buck fix is all you need. It can literally save you days of downtime and thousands of dollars.
