Used from my kayak, a small amount of image quality degradation noted, but after post processing in LR, that can be corrected with a little sharpening and clarity adjustments. It's great having a zoom range from 24 to 200. Also, you can not put any polarized filter, or any other additions to the basic RX 100. It's a tight fit! The housing comes with a neopreme cover which is extremely valuable for my use and can be used quickly while bouncing around in the water. While the housing provides buttons, levers and knobs for most camera functions, I've found it best to plan what setting you will need, and then stick with those setting while out on the water.

So, I returned the case. It was way big and mocked me foe buying a portable/small camera.Having said that, it holds the Sony camera as advertised and appears to be waterproof. It has knobs and controls for most of the features on the rx100. I tested it out on dry land - my living room. If I were a underwater photographer it would be grand. But really I probably wouldn’t have bought this camera in the first place if that were true. My use case is kayaking and canoeing.

I had been looking for an underwater housing for my RX100 VII for some time, but had very limited experience with underwater housings. Sony offers one, but I'd read some that they'd discontinued selling spare parts for the housing, and with this being a specialty item that may not see much regular use, it made me nervous to buy it in case something broke down the line and I couldn't get it replaced. Browsing my options I came across this housing, and after doing some more research, determined it checked off all the boxes for my needs. The housing completely surpasses my expectations. It's incredibly well built, and super functional! It allows me to use every aspect of my camera, and takes very little setup. Having not used an underwater housing before, I was definitely a little cautious, but by the end of the first day I just felt impressed. Some things to like1. The image is very clear, and the front glass element feels sturdy.2. There are multiple points on the case to attach either accessories, or lanyards/hand straps. It does not come with a hand strap, but they're fairly easy to come by, and definitely something you'd want.3. The housing floats in the water, so even if you lost it, it should just float right to the top.4. They include some anti-fog strips in the box. I didn't use one, and had no problems with the glass fogging up in 66 degree water.5. The shutter button is super satisfying, and all of the other button/dials work flawlessly, with the exception of the mode dial, which worked, but slipped a bit due to how hard the mode dial is to turn. I didn't find this too be much of a problem as I stayed on one mode, but if you switch around a lot, I can see this being annoying.6. The housing is super quick to open and close. I thought it might be more of a pain, but it's really easy to access the camera to change batteries.7. I did have to contact Sea Frogs support for something minor, and they got back to me within 12 hours with a solution. This is a huge deal when dealing with a product like this, and something that cannot be overstated.A couple things to be aware of.1. It's difficult to see the screen outside in mid-day sun. I don't see any way around this, and it's certainly not the fault of the housing, it's just hard to see due to the glare.2. The viewfinder is also difficult to use. It's impossible with a snorkeling mask, and even bare faced I found it challenging. The one big downside, and the only real problem I had was that once the viewfinder is popped up, there's no way to put it back down without opening the housing. This makes the viewfinder essentially unusable in my opinion, but given the fact the you can't use it with a face mask anyway, it's kind of a moot point.3. They sell additional ports. With the default port there is no way to accommodate lens filters. I have a magnetic filter attachment for my RX100 that is fairly compact, but there just isn't room to use it in the housing with the default port. All in all I'm really impressed with this housing, and the price makes it even more easy to justify buying. I'm eager to pick up some additional accessories for this housing, and get some great video in the future.

easy to use is 100%. there is really you can do wrong other than put the camera in.very cheap and it works. "for now"The reason why it's only 1 star overall. It's because it's longevity. this case will start to leak very very soon not longer than 10 dives.it said 60 meter but It really is no more than 20 meters deep. Trust me I have flooded 3 A7 with the housing. metek , sea frog, salted line. same factory. exactly the same thing just different name.

Although I haven't ventured out into the ocean or pool or waterfall, I am very pleased with the quality and functionality of the housing for my Sony RX100 VII. I do little snorkeling or SCUBA diving, but purchased for the all-weather ability and ocean side immersion for the camera. So far, access to all the camera's functions and its menu's is terrific and can't wait to take it for a swim.

I’ve always been a fan of Sony RX100 series cameras and the last one I had was the RX100 III until Sony announced RX100 VII which I bought in heartbeat and been using since. This is an amazing piece of tech in many aspects, but nothing can beat the size factor and the superior fast focus this camera can deliver. In many ways, it is kind of Jack of All trades in the world of cameras. So, I have been a very happy user so far, but my greatest passion is scuba diving and for many years I was scared to take my camera underwater, however with this camera and knowing what it can do I just couldn’t miss the opportunity. So, I looked on the internet for choices that I have for my camera and my research lead me to several brands, but the price of the housings was a lot to ask ($$$$), sometimes even 2 times the camera cost… That kind of put me off until I found this brand Salted Line, this housing seemed to be priced well and looks great with all camera controls and a lot of other accessories, so I gave it a go and see can this really be too good to be true. The result didn’t disappoint me, I got a lot of footage and a lot of photos from my vacation to Indonesia, Raja Ampat islands. Frankly, I got some other accessories and different ports, but the price is still cheaper than the other brand which only offers a camera case for that much money ($$$$).I am very satisfied with my purchase and can’t wait to get back into the water again!
