They are powerful little lights. They can light up a large area easily. They work well and they aren't expensive.

Perfect size and strength for our display box. Super bright led panels.

I have some neon posters and wanted to be able to view them in all of their glory. I have owned the old fluorescent black light before and they work but are very fragile. The LED version gives me almost as good results but is much more durable. In my house that matters because I have three little children running around. And they are brutal on everything.

These lights were probably designed for a different purpose, and yet they excel in a specific task. UV Blacklight is particularly effective in illuminating urine marks left by pets. These units can help you locate marks left by rescue and untrained dogs—which is a great help when you're cleaning the place and trying to identify soiled areas.

I got these black light panels for "retrobrighting" (reversing plastic yellowing using hydrogen peroxide and UV light) and I'm very happy with them. They cover a good area, have a sturdy metal frame and stand that can accommodate a variety of hardware and mounting options, and have long enough cords that you don't need to be directly next to an outlet to use these. As others mentioned, these lights do heat up quite a bit within about 10 minutes of turning them on. I got the lowest wattage (50w), and I measured the surface temperature of the metal frame to 110-112 degrees Fahrenheit. (For reference, OSHA says the safe and acceptable surface temperature of a surface is 140 degrees, which most people can touch for 5 seconds without personal injury). The 50 watt panels are bright enough for my needs without being insanely bright. I imagine the higher wattage panels would help speed up the retrobrighting process, but I'm happy to go "low and slow" personally. All in all, I recommend these lights!

The brightness on this is okay. You would need several of them to fill a large space. The one thing I didn't love about him was that the framing on them felt a little cheap. The metal is pretty thin and you can easily bend it with your finger and overall it just feels a little too much like a cheap Chinese product. It did light up with that classic bluish purplish color. However, really good black lights do not have so much visible spectrum. This one was very bright in the blues and purples. I don't think it's as good as a true high quality black light. It did make anything white glow but it just seems to be a spread spectrum and has quite a bit in the visible range.
