The flexible plastic used in the Sunner Thinken coil spring sleeves seem decent in quality, but have a rather strong petroleum smell. They are meant to alleviate excessive noise from metal on metal contact, and have 5mm holes cut throughout, which should allow for any moisture that may build-up underneath, to drain.I tried mounting the sleeves on new 0.5 inch H&R springs (28662-2). Although the posted specifications state that these fit all springs with a diameter of 0.5 inches (+/- 0.05”), to me, they appear a bit undersized, with too much of a gap to adequately stay in place and protect the coil.Although I ultimately decided not to use them, proper fit will really depend on your specific installation. I dont know if I needed these but, I had my springs out and figured I would give them a try. So far so good.
