These are very good at cutting out background sound. I tested them out while riding in a car with a loud exhaust note and the windows down, both with and without the microphone. The difference is significant.Sound quality is not perfect, but all you can expect of a less than pro level mic. Certainly a lot better than without.

I bought this for making better sound YouTube videos and when I tried it with my phone (a razr flip phone) it did not work. I have yet to try it on anyoner phone but it did not work at allEdit: I'm dumb I just had to switch it on. The audio I sent the best but what do you expect it was 9$ so it's good for the price
