My first use was on potatoes which I had trouble piercing even though the tines are quite sharp. Then I couldn't get it out without hurting my wrists. The onion was a little difficult too. A cucumber was much easier. A tomato was somewhat messy. I think the next time I buy a full loaf of bread I'll try it on that. I couldn't get the guard back on after using.
