This has been one of the best experiences I've had with an aquarium filter. I got it set up in about 30 minutes. Within 48 hours of setup, the water in my tank was crystal clear. My plant life has rebounded and is growing great, and my fish seem healthier than ever. Super quiet, easy adjustable water flow and shut off for cleaning filter media.

So id like to start with while putting it together the instructions werent amazing. Took common sense to realize the off and on button didnt have anything to do with the water flow its just the power to the uv light inside the canister.Second id like to mention once its all set up, iv taken notice to how quiet it actually is. i originally had two separate filters running in my 75 gallon aquarium and now i rely on this new filter. Im currently on day 3 and i see that my water is cleaner and smells better.I personally dont think its worth the $80 that was spent. But i did and theres no going back. Its not terrible. I think its mostly the uv light that is being paid for seeing its the only thing being powered. The rest of the machine is flow of water through a hand pump. All in all, all stars because is does truly work and does do its job.

Bought this as an extra filter for my 90 gallon already running a fluval fx 6. It definitely has some power to it. No issues there. The media baskets are super thin plastic and feel cheap. The bio balls they give with it are pretty much garbage. They don't provide any clips to hold the intake and out take tube's in place on the rim of the tank. Just some suction cups that you can use on the inside of the tank, and I suppose you could use them in the outside aswell if you don't have a background on the outside of the glass. It would be nice if they includes not just a spray bar, but also an adjustable out take nozzle.I've only have it for a week, so we'll see if it holds up and doesn't leak. Overall for the price, it's decent and does what it's supposed to.

Easy to build and mod the filter canister. Flows good and as long as you are not Hugo, it holds up. Flexible tubing is stiff and coiled, easier to work with if warmed in hot but not boiling water then straighten. You should also know how to prime and work with compression couplers of these styles of canister filters.Only complaint:Intake screen to small of surface area.3d printed a different one that was much larger. The OEM one has a small surface area, and under full flow, some fish can get stuck to it.Tip for some: o-rings in the fittings and pipe sections should be lubricated with a food safe silicon lubrication before assembly. Makes it way easier yo assemble and not shear and seal properly. For those not sure what to use, there is faucet grease that is food safe or silicone base (plain Jane, not scented or spermacided) "personal" lubrication (like Wet Plantium brand). Depending on what store your at, you will be able to find either or both.

This is a preliminary review. I got the filter a day ago. I'll update my review after I've used it for a while. It's tiny compared to other big brands like marine land and fluval but.... This tiny filter is powerful!!! I love the flow adjustment, a simple adjustment. The intake tube has a flow rate adjustment as well, that's quite neat and, the intake tube has a cap to unscrew and fill with water so no pumping or priming needed. It came with an extra uv light too. The uv light has its own on off switch and an "indicator light" tells you if the uv light is functioning. At first I thought a light to show the light switch is on but when I looked at it it's not a light indicator, it's a tiny window to the UV light and yes, it's working. The suction cups have some mega suck, they're great! I set it all up easily, the intake and output hoses cut easily with hefty kitchen shears. The hoses fit very tight - a tip, dip the end of the hose in hot water for 5-10 seconds to soften and help attach to the filter. No leaks anywhere.I'm impressed with this filter so far.

Big and effective; when first time started took 5 days to the job; but from there on has kept the water clean ; con: tubes are quite thick and cumbersome.

This is my first canister filter but I've had tanks for many years. Set up was fairly easy but directions were definitely lacking a bit. Common sense got me through, along with some google searches. Make sure to push your tubing on properly and tighten it. Once it was set up, absolutely no issues and no leaks. It's been running quietly ever since. Changing/accessing media isn't difficult but again, directions do not guide you well. My tank is clear and beautiful and it was worth the effort to figure everything out on my own. I like the UV light but I do wish it had a timer so I could just set it to run it a couple hours a day and not think about it.For the price this thing is amazing. Very happy!
