These lever style connectors are my preference for splicing wires. This inline version is approximately 1.5" and might not be the best option for narrow spaces or small enclosures but work great when those limitations aren't a factor. The connector accepts 12-24AWG solid or stranded conductors at either end and multiple connectors can be interlocked to keep things neatly organized when splicing multiple wires.The locking levers require firm pressure to operate and there is a positive snap when it is fully released or engaged. Wires are held in place tightly for reliable connections and the recessed opening at the center allows for testing connection integrity. These connectors are widely available on Amazon from different sellers and this is a pretty good deal for 20 pieces @ $7. The electrical rating is 600V @ 32A based on the product information but I am skeptical. For comparison, WAGO inline connectors are rated 600V @ 20A continuous. Also, there is no mention of safety certifications for this product.

Good idea but not for all situations

I do a lot of electronics projects, and when I want to quickly test something, I usually alligator clip things together. That worked fine, I guess, but then I tried these splice connectors and it’s like a game changer. It is way easier to connect some random motor, or transformer, or any other bare wire without having to mess with alligator clips (and then making sure they don’t touch each other and short out).These takes a very wide range of wire sizes, from 12 to 24 AWG. They clamp down very hard, and feel very secure with all the wires sizes, and they do bend the ends a bit. (Sorry I forgot to take pictures.) But they are fast and easy, and it sure beats alligator clipping things together. I keep these handy right on my workbench now. Easy 5 stars for these!
