I’ve only used it once to make a few plugs but so far so good. It’s a little odd cause the blades seem so big when you’re drilling. I had it in my press at my usual slow speed.It worked fine for now, I can’t say how long it will hold up for, cause I don’t have tons of bit material experience but it seems like it’s designed well and cut several ten millimeter plugs from black walnut just fine.Definitely better than a regular plug cutter if it stays sharp - especially something that big, way less heat as the blades work more like a cross of a drill bit and router bit with that hole down the center.I know it’s designed for long ish plugs but the length makes it feel a little weird, but not because the bit was made wrong just my instincts saying “that’s a long bit for that cutter style”I like it. If it starts getting dull watch yourself though. lol.

Cuts a decent plug. Doesn’t fit perfect, but within glue-sawdust tolerance. Leaves a bit of tear out on pine, even with a backing board. I’m about 5 uses in, when it wears out I’ll try to remember to come back and comment on durability.
