I ordered this dissection plate to help me keep my aquatic plants in place while working on trimming and propagating them. The tray is a nice, smaller size for keeping in a drawer. The wax is rather thin, but it will hold pins (and metal wire) just not deep ones.In addition, you're provided with foam stick-on-feet in case you'd like to use those on the bottom of the pan.This tray works perfectly for my hobby!

This is standard stainless steel dissection pan for high school, with the old-school wax layer that you heat up to melt and allow to reform a smooth layer after it's been used too many times.The only difference is that this is quite a bit smaller than the ones I remember - suitable for dissecting a grasshopper or a worm, but not a cat or a fetal pig. If all your class needs is the small stuff though, this'll work just fine.
